Expand Docs (show sub-pages) in Sidebar
in progress
Elias
I am missing the ability to navigate to subpages fast and see my full hierarchy (understand where what is) in the sidebar.
Notion does this in a great way - I feel much more in control where I am with a much better overview.
Please add this functionality.

I just stumbled upon this post through a Google search hoping to find a setting to turn this on. I agree, an expand/collapse arrow on sidebar docs with subpages would be incredible. :)

Brent I actually have to problems:
it takes to long to open docs and navigate through the pages -> I would love to be able to just expand the pages in a doc the same way I can expand a folder in the sidebar. (at the end just like notion)
with the current system, i always first have to click in the doc to then open the subpage i want. a fix to that could be the ability to drag a page of a doc in the sidebar hierarchy. therefore we would need a differentiation of pages and subpages in the sidebar.

Hi everyone!
Thank you for your feedback regarding this request. We're keen to understand the specific functionalities you would expect to see in this expanded sidebar.
Could you please share your thoughts on what other actions or features you would like to see when managing pages and subpages in the main sidebar?
For example, one idea mentioned is the ability to create pages and subpages directly from the sidebar.
Thank you for your continued feedback!

Brent I'd recommend just doing wha's available on the web or app versions. The UI is repeatable.
- Display a triangle on the left of the list item title that, when tapped, expands or collapses the list of sub-pages ... if there are no sub-pages, and the expand button is tapped, display the text "No sub-pages" or even "No Docs here, Add New?" with Add New being linked to create a new Doc
- Display a three-dot menu icon AND a plus icon on the right of each list item (like exists now on web / in app)
-- when the three-dot icon is tapped, open (slide up from bottom or in from the right) a menu with the same available action items on that document if you clicked that on the web / in app
-- when the plus icon is tapped, add a new sub-page under that doc, and open the edit screen for that new Doc
- If one Doc is "open" and another is tapped, allow multiple open documents; do NOT enforce only one expanded document at a time
If someone taps "Delete", just make sure they are challenged to confirm deletion. (fat fingers and all)

Hi Scott and Elias,
Thank you both for your detailed feedback on the functionalities you'd like to see with the addition of Doc pages/subpages to the main left sidebar in ClickUp.
Scott, your suggestions align closely with our plans. We’re working on implementing a consistent interface that mirrors the current functionalities available in the pages sidebar today.
Elias, your points about improving navigation efficiency are well taken. The ability to expand pages within a Doc in the main left sidebar, similar to folder expansion in the sidebar, is a feature we’re excited to bring in. Our current plan is to display all pages/subpages within a Doc in the main left sidebar, as opposed to standalone pages, but we do understand that differentiating pages and subpages will be key to this implementation.
Please stay tuned for updates, and feel free to share any further suggestions you might have!

Hi, thanks for sharing those comments regarding the branding in shared mobile Docs. We appreciate your feedback!
I updated the separate request that you linked for our Mobile team to review. Thanks again!

Glad to see this now in progress, because ... yikes what a UX mess that is.
