Emails from a Gmail account that are sent from ClickUp should continue to be documented in Gmail
Ben Rüttgers
Since we want to handle all of our email correspondence that pertains to open tickets directly from ClickUp, but still want to keep sent and received emails in Gmail as well, we need an appropriate solution here.

I have expressed myself somewhat incorrectly here. Emails sent from ClickUp with a Gmail account also show up in "Sent Items" in Gmail. Replies to these emails also show up in Gmail, but they do not show up in the ClickUp ticket.

Ben Rüttgers: Thanks for sharing your feedback! To confirm, is it that if someone creates a new email to reply to your existing ClickUp email, you are wanting it to also appear in the ClickUp thread?
I'm happy to update the name of this feature request once I have more clarity around the request!
Ben Rüttgers
Luci N.: Hello Luci,
i tried this again. It seems like it works in the meantime. Both my email and the reply appear in Gmail and in ClickUp on the ticket.
If my counterpart writes a completely new email and does NOT reply to my email, it should be impossible for ClickUp to assign this email to the ticket, right?
Luci N.
Hey, Ben! That's correct. If someone writes a completely new email separate from the ClickUp thread, it will not be connected to the email in ClickUp. If something different is happening, I recommend reaching out to our technical support team here!
Or, if your request is for a way to connect separate replies together in ClickUp, we can update the name of this feature request to reflect that!

If you handle some emails in gmail and then others in Clickup, doesn’t that mean you are touching and/or triaging some emails more than once? How do you decide what gets responded to in which software/AP?
Ben Rüttgers
DPluck: Since we process all e-mails concerning ClickUp tickets only from there, this should not happen.
Sam Insalaco
Carson is correct. This is exactly what the the Google Workspace integration does. It sends and receives directly through the configured account.

Same for Office365 / Outlook
Christoph Siara
Thomas Holenstein: would be phantastic
Carson
Unless something changed recently, you should be able to see sent messages in your Gmail sent folder.
Christoph Siara
Carson: only if you have that access
Ben Rüttgers
Carson: When you send emails from ClickUp, they are visible in both Gmail and ClickUp. When you receive a reply to this email, this reply is only visible in Gmail, but not in ClickUpTicket.
Carson
Ben Rüttgers: Hmm, that's not how it works for me - the replies also show up in ClickUp for me.
Drew Shafer
Carson: Same here, replies to emails sent from Clickup through the Gmail server show up in clickup, assuming the client responds to that specific email. If they create a new email and respond to you, it will not show up in Clickup, as they've effectively bypassed the "hidden" email to the clickup task at that point.
Carson
Drew Shafer: Oh - yeah, that's how it works for me too. It didn't sound like that's the issue they were referring to above.
