We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting this functionality for some time. With 3.0, we laid the groundwork for the new Email + inbox feature, but there is still work ahead.
I can give you an update since our team has put in a lot of work to improve our email service and handle the higher demand more effectively. With more emails expected to flow through ClickUp we wanted to make sure that we had the buffer to take on more functionality.
We also have a significant migration planned for our Microsoft email customers later this year, which should open up many more possibilities, but that part is still going through some back and forth on planning.
As some of you have mentioned, perfecting this feature will involve multiple steps, which is why we do not have an ETA just yet.
We'll keep you updated as we develop more features, but please keep sharing your feedback and use cases. At the end of the day, our goal is to enhance your communication needs, and since not everyone has the same requirements, understanding where you face challenges helps us get a clearer picture.

Please integrate email inbox into clickup. We need this so urgent..! That would boost clickup 200% as tool. Any news when you will release this update? Zeb Ivan Villa

Zeb I’m currently using HubSpot for a shared inbox (multiple inboxes) across my team, with permissions controlling who sees what, and statuses like “New,” “Waiting on Us,” “Waiting on Contact,” “Closed,” and “Snoozed.”
I hate it because HubSpot isn’t sleek, has too many unnecessary features, and ends up being even more frustrating. I considered switching to Freshdesk or Zoho Desk, but now I’m wondering if I should just wait for ClickUp to offer something similar, so I don’t need to switch tools in the meantime. For now, I’ll continue using HubSpot.
To have this work for our team, we also need to have, companies, contacts records where email is linked and contact automatically created by the email domain and email body signature. Be able to see a list of attachment or ticket linked to the contact..
Our phone system should be integrated eventually like it is now in Hubspot with 3CX

I also vote for them to prioritize this. I think it can be achieved with 3rd party vendors and coding automations, but really email is essential for you to fulfill your all-in-one marketing.

Any updates on that, please?

any news?

Ivan, thanks for keeping us updated. You mentioned in your post on May 23, 2024, that you would keep us updated as you develop more features. Since it's been almost 1 year since that last post, I assume there have been updates. Do you mind sharing them with us as we are eagerly awaiting this feature, and a lot of us are having to make decisions on whether we should be renewing our annual contracts with other email software on a regular basis?

Are you guys making it like Front App? Which is great on email inboxes, shared and SLA based on time and Tag rules based on client email ID's.
Blake Whittle
Sparkz Admin I also really like Front. Hope it's like that.
Tim Jasper
Sparkz Admin Or missive app (like Front App but better value)

Since the launch of Notion Mail was somewhat successful, I think you should prioritize it as well. That said, there's room for improvement — please consider adding a shared email inbox where teams can collaborate on incoming emails!

Merged in a post:
Shared Inbound Email Inbox (like HubSpot's conversational inbox)
Fedde Doornekamp
Currently, it's possible to send outbound emails from within a task and view replies directly in ClickUp. However, there's no shared inbound email environment where new, unassigned emails can arrive, be triaged, and assigned to team members as tickets or tasks.
A dedicated inbox view — similar to HubSpot's conversational inbox — would allow teams to handle support or sales emails collaboratively, assign ownership, and manage communication threads centrally.
This would make ClickUp a true hub for email-based workflows without needing to rely on external tools like Gmail or Outlook.

This is the opposite of what I want. Many of our clients will never log into ClickUp (or any project management tool we use) and want to be able to interact with us through their emails.
Unfortunately, the ClickUp emails are very painful for us and for our clients right now because they don't aggregate into a single thread in my email, and because they are so stylized and do not look like regular emails.
I'd much prefer that ClickUp invest in their email notifications and making those as nice as possible over investing more in the notifications within ClickUp.
