Email Address Auto Populate
Ruth Barrow
When I send an email through Clickup, I would like the address field to auto populate if I have sent the email an email in CU in the past, or maybe pull from an address book (like email clients do when you start typing someones name), otherwise I have to open my email client to copy/paste their email which defeats the point of emailing within CU

This ability is a major feature requirement to fulfill clickup as the only app to organize work throughout the day. And it's been requested for quite some time too!

Adding to this 4 years later, i have a contact list in clickup (people), and my task linked to a person (in the people list) via a relationship, so we should be able to email the email thats belongs to the person in the main contact list, vs having to add the email address AGAIN in this list/task. It seems a lot of unnecessary work

Used to have this feature and it seems to have gone away. If I 'cc someone else within the company their email will no longer autofill. Fairly minor inconvenience but over time it's aggravating.

I agree with all of these points. It would be great to import all of our email contacts, have more than 100 address in the Clickup address book. It would be great if Clickup could auto-populate addresses that have been used before. Thanks!!

Most project-based businesses need a clear audit trail of communications, both for process best practice and to refer back to for approvals, disputes etc. For businesses using Clickup that DON'T invite their clients into workspaces, email is the only option.
As a result, there are certain UX expectations around using email that we all take for granted. Auto-population of address fields is one of them.
Most communications are task-based, and for projects that have large numbers of tasks, particularly if they change frequently (e.g. monthly retainers), these comms must be located within the tasks. It quickly becomes a problem if everything is jumbled into a single part of the workspace, and the user has to search through mountains of emails - particularly if they are attachments
Another is that once an email is sent, any follow ups in the thread need to be stored with the message. It's not really acceptable to have some emails in the task, and others in an associated/linked email inbox.
Clickup really should look at the email function and analyse whether it's aligned to user expectations.

It should be filled automatically with the possibility to delete suggested e-mail address(ses) which were earlier used in the task. It doesn't make sense to click the address everytime you send a new e-mail (probably to the same receiver)

Suggest Email addresses in Email Custom Field

Currently, when you use the Email Custom field, you have to type the entire email address out, even though this email address may be used in a different Space/Folder/List or is a known contact (client, employee, etc).
Similarly to Gmail and other email apps, allow the Email Custom field to suggest email addresses as you begin to type in the email address in the Custom Field.

Thanks for the hlp. Unfortunately, I think you misunderstood my issue. I'm typing email addresses into a new EMAIL within Clickup. Email addresses that have already been used inside Clickup (even the same task) are not found.
