It would be nice to be able to edit the settings as pageformat, timerange etc. when exporting a Gantt-chart as PDF.

I think the on-screen Gantt looks good, but many PMs still need to issue a professional PDF schedule to clients, builders, and subcontractors. At the moment, the PDF export still needs significant improvement. Even with the date range feature, its still not there.
Because of this, I still need to keep a master programme in MS Project. I use ClickUp for day-to-day management, then update the MS Project file weekly and export the PDF from there. Ideally, ClickUp should be able to replace that workflow.
I've also tested Zoho Projects. While I don't think it's as feature-rich as ClickUp overall, its Gantt chart and PDF export are miles ahead.
A few improvements that would make a big difference:
- In the export, the task table on the left needs clearer formatting. Without grid lines or cell borders, it looks like a block of text rather than a structured schedule.
- The hierarchy could be much clearer. Summary tasks should be displayed in bold, while subtasks should use normal text with a more noticeable indent.
- The timeline needs finer date increments. When viewing by months, it's difficult to determine the actual date a Gantt bar represents without referring back to the Start and Finish columns. The whole purpose of a Gantt chart is to communicate the schedule visually at a glance, so the timeline should provide enough detail to make bar positions immediately understandable.
- Overall, the PDF export should produce a cleaner, more polished document that can be sent directly to clients without needing to recreate the schedule in another application.
If ClickUp could bring its Gantt export up to the standard of Microsoft Project or Zoho Projects, it would remove one of the last reasons many construction project managers still need to maintain a separate scheduling platform.

Totally agree with this suggestion. Also, the last task names get cut off at the end of the time range when exporting.

It would be helpful to have more formatting options to better fit Gannt charts onto the PDF with the new export function. - Thanks

Any updates on this export feature, it would suck for us to not be able to easily export from various due dates. as we want to be able to show off our gantt charts to team and potential partners alike.

I totally agree with all the comments herein. Actual Gantt pdf export is useless. @tech team, please consider the comments and suggestions in this feedback section to improve the feature.

Hello, any update on this item?
We need to print Gantt reports for our director with today and later items, but the Gantt stretches to the beginning even when there are no items, and it is very zoomed out.
The view can be edited on the screen but not on the export which is very challenging

I have to be able to share a Gantt chart with customers and other departments in the company without giving them access to ClickUp. The Gantt view definitely needs to have more features with exporting for specific time frames, adjusting the visible columns on the left (adding in custom fields, etc). It's great that it exports on one page but the time frame is way too large as is.
