Edit templates and see more about each template inside the template center!

I shouldn't have to create a task, apply a template, edit the task, then save the template.
I should be able to edit the template directly in the template centre, then close the template centre when finished.

Brendan W Thank you 🥹 I’ve been waiting for this day for years

Brendan W Thank you!!! Having to go through all the extra steps to update a template is terrible. Especially when you have tasks inside of lists assigned to people based on particular dates. The employees get really irritated when they see these tasks pop up, but they're only there as a result of needing to update/change the template.

Brendan W This made my day!! Thank you!!

Brendan W this is VERY good news. Templates need a serious re-think. IMO (as if it were anything else, but also happens to be a fact), a template should be, in essence, exactly like a task, only contained in within a very clearly defined Template Zone.
So when you go to create or edit a template, you enter into the TZ, create your new template or, go to the template you want to edit, and it's
just like
being in a Task/List/Folder/Space. Except.... you're not. That way you can really get a sense of what you're creating. Bonus: the act of creating a new template item needs some streamlining.

Brendan W HI brendan! Will we be able to see a priview of this?

Brendan W cool !!! I really wish to be able to edit my task templates directly in the template center. For now, I keep all my templates "models" in a dedicated space but it's really tedious to update my source / click the update template btn, select the correct template, select what to update...
So I can't wait for it!

I don't like having to have templates stored outside of the template area (or create from a template, then edit and save back to templates).
Templates should be a space on its own where you can easily edit templates as needed.

any progress on this? I've had some process changes and it's pretty annoying to have to create a new task to edit the template. Not sure what the point of the template centre is.

Now with many many improvements and new Manager / Center views, The "Template Manager" should be prioritized!
The current workflow to "edit" a task template is horrible and not at CU-level :) Any news or plans on this

+1 - Editing a template it a whole process when it shouldn't be. It's so frustrating to go to apply a template and see basically an empty page instead of the content of the template itself. It's nice I can edit a template without creating a task fully now, but it's impossible for tasks with subtasks/more granular pieces to edit them without making the task. I just had an issue with automations adding additional assignees I didn't ask for and had to do trial and error to see why - it was because they were on the template, but I could not tell that as there was no way to view it without making the task and triggering the automation. An actual template center where I can see what my templates are would solve this and many other issues.

It's rather annoying that I can't edit the contents of an existing template - as a new ClickUp user I'm constantly changing things as I learn how to use it better, so now I've resorted to not even creating the templates until I'm certain I've got the contents 100% ready.
