It is currently not possible to set up a single recurring task that automatically assigns to different team members on a rotating or scheduled basis. When a task is set to recur, the same assignee(s) are set for every future iteration of that task.

Our team has routine tasks where responsibility rotates among members. The current limitation in ClickUp forces users to choose between two inefficient workarounds:

Creating multiple separate recurring tasks: One for each person in the rotation (e.g., a "Check server status" task for Alex that recurs every Wednesday, and a separate one for Ben that recurs every Thursday). This clutters the workspace, makes it difficult to update the core task details (you have to edit multiple tasks), and complicates reporting.

Manual daily re-assignment: A manager or team member must remember to manually change the assignee on the task each day, which is prone to human error and defeats the purpose of automation.

This gap in functionality prevents teams from truly automating their rotating responsibilities within a single, manageable task.
