Don't Count "Done" in Task Count on List Sidebar
not on the roadmap
Daniel Sturtevant
Hi! We use the "Done" status option, and the numbers over here in the list summary would be more helpful if the done-but-not-complete statuses weren't counted there. Especially on the lists where tasks are fast and the number of pending items should always be pretty close to zero, I find myself having to do mental math to say "okay, yesterday there were 8 WebForm items declined, so that 9 means there's a new one today..."

Appreciate the feedback! Would an option to switch the number to Done Only be sufficient? Or you always want the number to be Done Only?
Daniel Sturtevant
Sean Kilcullen: Hi! Since those summaries mainly count active statuses, I'm wanting
NOT
to have tasks with "Done" statuses included in those counts. That Web Form list reflects a really quick task, so they rarely stay active long. If the count in that summary only showed the not started and the active, then we could see immediately "hey, there's a new one, better do it," if the count shows anything but a zero. As it stands, it's counting "Done" but not counting "Completed," which doesn't mean a whole lot to us. It's effectively showing us the running total of the number of webform submissions that we've ever closed as "Declined," (i.e. a "Done" status, but not a "Completed" status). So my preference would be that the counts include not started and active, but neither done nor completed. In the specific context of that left-side default summary count for the whole list, I wouldn't imagine needing the switch option (i.e., when want to count the Done, I'll go look at a report or something). My preference would be to have Done always
EX
cluded from those counts, but an option to switch them off would be fine if slightly more complicated.
