Its hard to see what week day it is when using gantt view.. Please add days above or below the date!

Hello,
We know how critical the Gantt chart is for many of you, and we’ve heard your feedback loud and clear. We’re committed to making meaningful improvements, and your input is essential in shaping these changes.
To ensure we’re addressing the right areas, we invite you to take a short survey about zoom levels and timescale headings in the Gantt. Your feedback will directly influence the updates we’re planning.
Thank you for helping us make the Gantt chart better for everyone.

I would really like an option to see MONTHS displayed under years. So like the current "quarter" view, where it shows the year and quarter, I would like an option to see months instead.
This is because many people and businesses DON'T operate using quarters. Also, you have to do mental gymnastics to work out what month is in what quarter. It just adds a level of friction.
So an option to see months under years would really help.
Also, I would advocate an optional third row for each, where you can break down further. E.g., Year -> Quarter ->
Month
or Month -> Week -> Day
, etc. Also, week dates would be helpful along with week numbers. For the same reason above - mental gymnastics are removed. Not everyone works in week numbers.
Finally, the vertical bar should ALWAYS say "today", and should accurately reflect where you are.

Hey everyone,
We're rolling out updates to how dates are displayed in the Gantt.
Here is what's being proposed:
Weeks: Displayed as week number and date range (e.g., W12 18-24). If space is tight, just the start date of the week will appear (e.g., 5, 12, 19).
Days: Shown with the first letter of the weekday and the date (e.g., M 5, T 6, W 7).
We’re also looking into stacking dates for better visibility at zoomed-out scales.
Let me know what you think.

Weeks: I think its fine while above we can see the year and month for reference
Days: right now I can see 2 days leters Mo, Tu... and it looks fine

Juan Grandas The visibility of the individual days at zoomed out scales is what helped me use the gantt charts so effectively. I'm so glad to hear that it is something that you are looking into.
Please think about incorporating some of these options into the Customize settings, so that users can make the gantt work for the way they use it:
For my use case, I need to be zoomed out but still be able to see the lines for the days - I often just need to move a bunch of tasks one week earlier/later. It is a horrible experience to now have to try fiddle with zooming in an out every time. So I would be happy to see just the letters for the days packed as tightly as can be |M|T|W|T|F|S|S|
Others may need to see the dates only as moving projects later according to a specific date is more pertinent, and if the weekends remain highlighted as they are, then figuring out which day is which is easy enough |19|20|21|22|23|24|25| (the way the gantt previously displayed)
Others may need both day letters and the dates (the way your current update shows it)(but I hate how it steals the precious width of the gantt chart)
|M 19|T 20|W 21|T 22|F 23|S 24|S 25|
I don't need/use the week numbers so I can't speak to that, however I can imagine seeing the week dates as you are proposing would be useful information to be able to glance to.
I would hope that ability to choose my own combination of layouts - (week dates with day letters; no week details and only dates; week numbers only and no day information) would enable users across all the different work sectors the ability to use the gantt charts as effectively as they need them and not favour just one approach of working with them. I hope this is helpful, thanks.

Juan Grandas Also, if you can make sure the vertical bar for the current date is always accurate, that would help. E.g., on month view, it might sit at the beginning of the month even though you are near the end of the month.

Angus Innes I agree with much of what you've shared.
I too want the day lines to be returned as they make moving tasks significantly more effiecient.
The current format showing Mo 12 | Tu 13 ... takes up too much width. Ideally I'd like stacked with day of the week above date BUT with all the menus at the top (including that pesky black bar) that will eat up too much screen space.
With all the menus as they are, my vote would be to have just the date as it's easy enough to see what day of the week it is.
The way weeks are currently displayed on the left side with week numbers on the right side (day timescale) works for me. My frustration with this view is that the columns even at the most zoomed out are still wider than they need to be.

Understood. Here's some clarification so we can both be on the same page.
We can consider adding two letters to the day to help differentiate Saturday and Sunday.
Let me know what you think.

Juan Grandas Yes, it can be if it doesn't take much space. I agree with many things Angus proposed taking into account these 2 week letters and the fact that the number of the week is not always useful but well, it can be for someone. And in general, to reduce the space to cover the letters. Currently there is much space than needed. Thanks
Guy Mannerings
Juan Grandas You need 2 or 3 letters because T and T - Tuesday or Thursday? S and S - Saturday or Sunday? I would propose 3 letters because I think that is more standard, but 2 would work.
Mariko Nagano
I absolutely agree. Trello, for example, display the the days of week (MO, TUE, WED, etc. ) and I found it is very helpful.
Natalie Williams
Display weekdays & dates NOT just week number in the week timescale. Bring back the day lines and distinguish day lines from week lines to make it easy to read.

This should not be that hard to accomplish... Clickup falling way behind on the "project managment" tool it claims to be

I would love to see this feature added. My previous tool I used had the weekdays listed (just the first letter of the day) and it made it so much easier to see at a glance what days you are working on. For instance, I quite often need to add resourcing for a Engineer from a specific day one week to another day the week after etc and without the weekdays I have to open my calendar and figure out what days I need as it's not clear from a glance so I double check my work to ensure I've got it correct. This would be hugely simplified having it within the view instead.

Yes, Please add this feature.

Yest this would be very helpfull

And a strong line between weeks just for an extra visual indicator.
