Default link display format setting: Inline link instead of Preview for internal ClickUp links
Nancy Cho
When pasting ClickUp internal links (tasks, docs, etc.) in comments or descriptions, they currently appear as large preview cards by default. Users can manually change them to inline link format using the "..." menu, but this needs to be done every time.
Request: Add a user preference setting to make "Inline link" the default display format for ClickUp internal links, similar to how "Plain text links" setting works for external URLs.
This would significantly improve workflow efficiency for users who prefer the cleaner inline link format.

Default to inline link (Not preview mode)

When I paste clickup task links to notes, it now defaults to the preview mode. This used to default to inline link, until the new 4.0 change. I always want it instead to default to inline link and it's annoying to manually have to switch it every single time (I use this hundreds of times a week). Please make an option in settings so the user can choose which version to default to, instead of forcing one or the other.

Hi - to disable automatic previews:
In the upper-right corner, click your personal avatar.
Select Settings.
Scroll down to the Preferences section.
Enable Plain text links.
This worked for me as I was having the same frustration. You have to refresh the page you are working on for the action to take place but it's saved me many unecessary clicks.

My workaround for this has been to add a letter and, on the same line, paste the link—it will keep it as an inline link, then I delete the letter.
Example:
ahttps://app.clickup.com/XXX
Then it becomes just

You can always do Ctrl+Shift+V, but indeed setting the default whould save effort.
