Custom Fields in User Profiles (e.g., Skills, Role, Phone Number, Bio Link, Salary, etc...)
building now
Marta Malińska
I would like to request the ability to add custom fields to user profiles in ClickUp, in addition to the standard email address. For example, it would be extremely helpful for our organization to include a business phone number directly in the profile. This would allow team members to quickly find the best way to contact each other, which is crucial for efficient communication and urgent situations.
Additionally, it would be valuable to have the option to add a custom URL field, such as a link to a personal “bio page” or employee profile created in ClickUp. This page could contain all important information about the employee, their responsibilities, and other relevant details.
Allowing organizations to define custom fields in user profiles would make ClickUp much more flexible and better suited to different company needs. It would also improve internal collaboration and make it easier to find the right person for specific topics or projects.

Update from the team building this.
What is working
Fields on People behave like the custom fields you already use on tasks: create one on the People page, pick the type, then choose where it shows - the People table, gallery cards, org chart cards, the profile panel.Permissions, the part most of you asked about
Every field carries its own access setting: standard, people fill in their own value, or private. On top of that you can give named users or groups view, set or edit rights on a single field, and a person's direct manager can be given rights on their reports. On SCIM
Today SCIM carries a fixed set of attributes on Enterprise: manager, department, region and management chain. Carrying your own defined fields from your IdP is the piece being wired up alongside this. Not in the beta
API access for these fields, and using them inside task views and dashboards. On timing
We posted July to August for the beta and that has slipped. We are not putting a new window on this post until the beta is genuinely open, and this thread gets the update when it is.Vasil Enchev
Hi everyone, thanks for all the votes and comments here! This is exactly the feedback that shaped what we're building.
We're calling it
User Attributes
: custom fields on people, just like the custom fields you already use on tasks. You'll be able to track things like department, region, cost center, skills, certifications, phone number, or a bio link. Fields can sync automatically from your IdP/HRIS (Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint, Workday) via SCIM, or you can add them manually from the People page. They'll show up across People, Profiles, Org Chart, and Team Hub, with configurable visibility so sensitive data stays locked down. We're kicking off a beta from July to August 2026 and would love to have your workspace try it early.
👉 Sign up for the beta: https://forms.clickup-stg.com/333/f/ad-5680249/E3XJZI3Y8EBEGHWHKB
📗 Learn more (beta doc): https://doc.clickup-stg.com/333/d/h/ad-5680253/bfd73d08ed8b34f
We'll follow up directly with your team once your workspace is enabled, and we'll keep posting updates here as the beta progresses. Pricing and packaging are still subject to change, so we can't promise final numbers yet.

Vasil Enchev we can't submit beta acces request on our workspace. pls check it

Vasil Enchev Will this data also become available via the API?
Kendra Gripp
Vasil Enchev I'm really excited about this feature. But will admins have the ability to fill this out for users? Or will each user have to fill it out for themselves?

Vasil Enchev can we have it to be show up in workload view as well? This can helps TL to understand better the competence/skill of each member in workload view when doing the resource planning. It would be even great if we will be able to filter/group assignees by skill in workload as well. For example, TL filter the skills required and then shows only user with the skill.
Vasil Enchev
Mostafa Shabanpour: thanks for the screenshot, that form shouldn't be blocking you. Send me your workspace ID and I'll get you added to the User Attributes beta directly so you're not stuck behind it. We'll look into why the submission is failing on your workspace.
Vasil Enchev
Shane Kretzmann: yes, API access is planned. It isn't part of the beta, so it won't be there on day one, but it's on the plan rather than a maybe. What would you be doing with it, reading attributes out for reporting, or writing them in from another system? That helps us sequence which side to build first.
Vasil Enchev
Kendra Gripp: both, and it's configurable. Every user attribute has its own permissions, so you decide per field who can fill it in. Admins can set them, people can fill in their own, and direct managers can fill them in for their reports. On top of that, attributes can sync automatically from your IdP or HRIS over SCIM, so anything that already lives in your HR system doesn't need to be touched by hand 🙂
Vasil Enchev
Jane Koh: yes, and it's next up. Workload is what we're building right after custom fields on people goes into beta, so it's the immediate follow-up rather than a someday. Filtering Workload by skill and grouping assignees by it is exactly the resource planning case we want it to serve 🙌

Custom fields or metadata on Workspace Users
T
Travis Rose
This may be difficult to describe since there is a "Person" custom field, but what I'd like is the ability to add custom fields to a user in ClickUp that could be referenced in automations or formulas.
For example, if I added a Custom Field to the user record called "Region", I could see the # of tasks I had assigned per region as defined by my company.
If I had a custom field named "Level", I could set up an automation that triggers a comment any time a person of a certain level had a task past due.
Lots of possibilities here that would help out many workflows. Thanks!

updated the status to
building now
We are thrilled to announce that we are now building custom fields on people.
This feature would likely be available on a higher-tier plan and would allow you to set any fields for people in your workspace. And show them on different surfaces like the People table, gallery and on the person's profile. Additionally, it would sync with SCIM to download any existing fields and map them to fields within ClickUp.

Vasil Enchev Thank you for the update. We're really looking forward to this new feature set. Thank you for all the work you and others at ClickUp are doing to continually improve its functionality.

If you could use the custom fields in views and dashboards then it would be incredibly helpful. We currently have to use Airtable to track our different users in ClickUp (which department they are in, division, organization role, etc.). If we could do that within ClickUp that would be awesome!
Vasil Enchev
Worth checking one thing first: on Enterprise, department, region and management chain are already columns on the People table, filled from your IdP over SCIM. If those three are most of your Airtable sheet, you may be closer than you think.
What this feature adds is the rest of them, the ones only your org has, like division or organization role, created on the People page and shown on the People table, gallery cards, org chart and profile.
Using those values to group and filter is a separate piece of work, and it is scoped rather than shipped. Today it is aimed at Workload and Timeline, where the case is resource planning: filter by the skill a job needs, group assignees by it. Whether it should extend to every view that can group by a field, and to dashboards, is genuinely still open.
Two questions that would help us decide. Which matters more to you, reporting on people, or these values sitting on tasks next to assignee? And which views specifically would you need it in?

+1 to all the comments - it would be a great improvement!

Create Additional Columns of Info to "Manage People"

It would be very useful to see what teams people are apart of in the [Manage People] (user settings) section. Such as being able to create custom fields of different information based on each user.

A page that would allow team members to write info about themselves:
i.e.
title
location
phone number
other contact info
And then display that info on a member's page along with their activity stream, linked projects and tasks they are working on, etc....
Additionally, an option to click on their picture name anywhere within ClickUp and to taken to this members page.

It would be very useful to have the possibility to create a customizable "profile card" for each person who is enjoying my teams in order to map their role in the project (example: PM, Back End Developer, SQL Developer, Full Stack Developer ... ), the seniority of the person (junior / middle / senior), and add skills related to programs, languages and other things that build his "Know How"
