Custom Fields for List, Folder, or Space
Lydia Hesterman
We organize our clients by folder (i.e. client a), and then client projects as lists (i.e. client a's website). There is no way to group or sort by a list unless you use the default status grouping, but that forces you into lots of other viewing features that I don't want. I'd just love to see everything overdue, sorted by folder or list.

Portfolio Widget start and end dates should auto-populate based on tasks in the lists
Kayla Duval
It would be great if this information could be auto populated from the folder/lists inside the portfolio. If tasks have start and end dates then the portfolio should auto populate with the earliest and latest dates within it. Having everything manually entered defeats the purpose of this widget as you have to constantly update it.

Time limit for projects
D
Dani
In order to analyze its profitability we set a time limit for our projects, so we can easily track if we are using our time right and control client demands based on a timed criteria. The most relevant example are prepaid bundles of hours, where the client buys X hours to invest in whatever tasks they need on their project
I have seen that in ClickUp you can add estimated time for tasks, but this only allows you to analyze projects where all the work can be estimated beforehand. It is not really useful for projects where you can´t plan every task.
I don´t know if there is a better way to do this but, in my opinion, it would be nice to have a time limit for projects. This field could be compared with the time total users track for their tasks and get the % of completions / hours available, maybe with a progress bar on the project main view. It would not be necessary for this to be a hard limit, in fact it would be interesting that it could be exceeded so you could compare your projects and see where you had extra profit or loss.
It would be very nice to compare that progress bar on the Space or Folder view, similar to the Work in Progress limit feature, but focused on the max time that a project should have. If you invite clients as guests to your project, they could see how much time they have left

Hi Dani thanks for the feedback! Are you using a list to represent a project, and are then looking for the ability to add Custom Fields at the list level (vs. having to define them on tasks), or are you using a single task to represent a project?

Dani
Hi Caroline Ginty, we use lists to represent projects.
The time limit I suggested would be set at list level, but it should track the total time added to the list tasks in order to check if the limit has been exceeded

Dani Great, thanks! I'm going to merge this into the existing feature request to enable fields at the list level.

Custom Field(s) at List Level
Max Boroumand
The ability to add custom fields at the LIST level, similar types as at the TASK level. By way of example, "Funding Source", "Location", "Project Type", etc. At the present, we are creating said abstraction in the LIST title and using the API and RegEx to do our reporting.

Add tags or labels to list
Karelle Clermont-Moquin
It would be great if we could add a tag or label directly to a list (not just a task). This way, we could filter and organize the entire space based on tags and/or labels, making it simpler to see all lists related to a specific subject. Since we use lists as projects, this feature would help us navigate through projects more efficiently. Thanks! :)

List Info/Description as Dashboard Card
Jeremy Lintz
We use the List Info Description as a broad outline of a project and point of reference for some key data. Would like to be able to see that text as a card in the new Dashboard View. As of now, we have to make a separate text card to present that info, which is redundant and is not actually "connected" to the list (doesn't sync with anything, not visible in other views).

Field "Phase" on list level with drop down menu to select phase of the project
Melanie von Schorlemer
It would be very useful to have a field Phase on list/project level.
We plan to create master lists of all projects and we will be able to do reporting/dashboards based on the phases.
This would help us to filter or group projects by phase e.g. projects in Initiation, Planning, Delivery, Post Delivery Phase.
In case a field on list level cannot be used for reporting/dashboards, it would be useful if the value could be populated/rolled down as a custom field to tasks and subtasks so that we don't have to enter the value for each task.
Tom Barrett
Please please can this be done soon. Even the most basic text field at list level would be a game changer for us at the moment.
We need ways to categorise our projects for reporting both in the tool and for integrations. The colours you can assign to lists are only available in one portfolio report and are not exportable so we don't find them of enough use unfortunately.
