I’d love to request a feature that would significantly improve cross-list data management:
Please add the ability to auto-sync custom fields between two or more lists when they share a common identifier (for example, a “Project Number” field).
Here’s the use case:
I have two separate lists, Proposals and Projects.
Both lists contain a common custom field called “Project Number.”
When a value is entered or updated in one list (e.g., a “Design Fee” or “Status” field in Proposals), I want the corresponding field in the Projects list (for the same Project Number) to automatically update.
This would allow us to:
Keep separate lists for distinct workflows (like Proposals vs. Active Projects)
Avoid duplicate manual entry
Maintain data consistency across lists
Build more accurate dashboards and reporting
Currently, this isn’t possible without using third-party tools like Make or Zapier, which adds complexity and cost.
Having a native ClickUp automation like:
“When custom field [X] changes in List A → update matching task in List B where [Project Number] = same value”
would be extremely helpful.
It would enable seamless cross-list workflows and make ClickUp far more powerful for businesses managing multi-phase pipelines.
