As a designer, the proofing tool leaves a lot to be desired! If it were up to me I would switch us away from ClickUp because these features are lacking.
A few things that would make this exponentially better, and comparable to competitors like Wrike:
MOST IMPORTANT:
  • Have 'approve / reject/ approved with changes' buttons for files that need to be proofed
- Even better if we can customize the text of these buttons
  • Set people as "approvers" (must approve), and "reviewers" (don't need to approve) and have stages of review
  • Allow for document versioning. Having a proofing/markup tool is not all that useful when we don't have version uploads as an option. It just makes a mess of the files and creates chaos and disorganization when we have 5+ versions of a file.
  • Ability to markup more than just PDFs (specifically text documents like word or excel)
OTHER THINGS THAT WOULD BE AWESOME:
  • Allow markup like drawing, or creating a square / circle around items
  • Would be amazing to be able to highlight text in PDFs as a markup tool as well
