Create Automation Templates

This applies to the "Automations Manager" and "Ability to copy existing automations".
I would like to be able to create an automation as a template and update that template like I would update a task template. I would like to be able to apply that automation template to any new list through an option within the automations manager "Apply template to selected lists" and have the option of selecting all the lists that automation should apply to.
Likely we would need a 'check for duplicate' automations if this were to be available as a mass application of automations to multiple lists.
Open to hearing how others would use this, but I'm specifically using it to field product-related requests for a software company's intake process.
We have 4 stakeholder groups that need to follow the same process to get their needs met. They all make inputs into my process, but I don't want to require them to work in my space; rather I am using automations to transfer information between spaces as needed.

Use API to create template and change them into automations
Kirill Kozubenko
Faced with the bug according to which we should create new template instead of updating existing and then manually change templates in automations
It would be great to use API for creating template and change them into automations

Love this idea. An automation I'm using is [when a task or sub-task is created] to set a custom field, then [set custom field] to [x] for every folder.
I'm using this as a workaround for the lack of sub-tasks inheriting custom fields from parent tasks, so we can filter projects by sub-tasks assigned to team members.
If we could "template" the [when] and [then], I wouldn't need to duplicate from a different list on every new space or folder across projects.
Then again, if there was the option for sub-tasks to inherit parent tasks fields (toggle on/off for each column) I wouldn't need this workaround in the first place.

Would love the ability to create an automation that we then templatize and modify to use on other spaces/folders/lists.

Make it so I can create an automation and then "paste" it into multiple Spaces/Folders/Lists.
Also make it so that if I edit the master automation, it automatically updates the automation for all instances of the automation. Having to update an edited automation across every space, folder, and list where the automation occurs is time-consuming.

I want the ability to import/export Automations to another cloud site.

Import/export is a great way to think about it! The main ask is reusable automation templates. Merging these so we can see total demand - thanks for sharing!

it makes it a lot more straightforward being able to template a more complicated automation rather than having to create it every time

We manage client projects as separate workspaces/lists but need to maintain automations consistently across many lists within each client project. Without the ability to copy automations to multiple places or add from a bank of custom automations, this process is really tedious and can't be updated easily from a central location.

Due to our large client base, we have 100's of automations. I'm currently in the need of identifying a certain group of automations but w/out the ability to export them, it's a manual and timely process. The ability to export our automations would extremely helpful to our work flow.
