5 years of requests for this. It's absolutely a deal-breaker for so many potential users, while the rest of us struggle on with work-arounds.

What more do we need to do to get some action on this basic request ???? !!!!!

I really want to use clickup, I would be happy to subscribe and get some of the frills but without the ability to have multiple closed status' it just doesn't do what it needs to.

This feels like it should be easy to do.

I am evaluating ClickUp for my org, and noticed my colleague marking tasks "cancelled". I looked at these tasks and was surprised to see that the default template refers to "closed" as "cancelled", with a green circle. That's weird, but I figured I'd just add "complete" as another option and be done with it. Except, I can't.

Why would cancelled ever be green? Why would a dev team put so much effort into customizing all other status options, but exclude one status option from it? Why would it take 5 YEARS to acknowledge this ticket?

I've been enjoying ClickUp so far and have been preparing to recommend one of the paid tiers for our org, but I am now second-guessing. Although the lack of this basic, common-sense feature is concerning, the fact that this ticket is 5 years old without any acknowledgement is a much bigger concern to me.

Now I'm wondering what other frustrating surprises I haven't noticed yet and I'm reconsidering my recommendation. Make no mistake, small sources of friction like this -- and failure to acknowledge them -- is losing you new business.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my subscription and move to another tool.

ClickUP is basically unusable for me without this feature.

I know there is no tenth of thousands like on it but there is 1.1k.

People here deserve at least some message if this is considered to be implement in future or not.

I hope this AI hype train will end one day and ClickUP team will have some time and resources to answer smaller but critical for some feature requests.

Still crying out for this one! I want the ability to mark a request/task as cancelled or running and it be marked as done!

This is EXACTLY what we're looking for. In our case, we use this for client management, so multiple 'Open' statuses would be helpful, too - I would really love to be able to report on how many tasks were moved from one status to another, and having multiple, modifiable open and closed categories would allow for this. (For instance, how many of our leads purchased something/did not purchase something/cancelled their appt/no showed, etc.)

Yes, please! We also would absolutely love to have the option of lost and won closed tasks while having ALL task history/activity easily visible, such as what can be viewed under "show closed". In our business, this would allow us to easily see any and all business that relates to a particular list, whether it was won or lost by us.

Yes please! We use clickup for presales tasks and I really want a 'Closed-Lost" or Closed-Won option. Also - sometimes we want to close something as we decided not to do - and we'd like to differentiate between "closed - done" and "closed - not doing".
