copy block link
Richer Morin
my doc is publicly shared->incognito page logged into another account or logged out, it works->when i copy block link and do the same it doesn't work... give error message, page is unavailable. you save a lot of time when you're able to share the direct specific location publicly to a 200 pages doc. thanks for your help!

Switching this to planned because I'm adding it to our Public Docs work on the roadmap.

Justin Hunter I know this is a low voted item, but, it's been a year... are we going to see this any time soon? Getting ready to publish 100s of pages of help docs and have all the links attached to our website and realized half way through that the block links don't work, even in shared pages. Is there any way to copy the public block link atm?
Austin Hodges
Justin Hunter After some digging, the Block IDs are literally the same in the private and public docs but for some reason you haven't implemented the functionality to interpret URL parameters to navigate directly to these blocks.
It would take like 4 lines of JS to allow interpretation of ?block= block IDs on public document urls. Then at least in the mean time we can (painstakingly or with some automation) create our own public anchor urls until you can build out the GUI for sharing public block links.
A simple Band-Aid like this would help hold us over until you implement this feature in a year ❤️
PLEASE don't make me make a chrome extension that all my 1000s of users have to download to navigate your docs easier :) plz.

Hey Richer Morin! Good find! This is not a bug because you're copying a block link from the logged in interface which is designed to only work for logged in users. However, we should make this available on Public Docs. Marking this as under review!

Justin Hunter: perfect... yep i understand the logged in example which makes sense... but it doesnt work even if you logged in... ive tried both ways logged in and out and it didnt work (incognito page) here's an example i picture logged out.
Richer Morin
logget into an account that is not into the workspace account of the doc's example
Richer Morin
but if you copy the whole doc and its public you can access it logged into an outside account and also logged out. here's an example in pictures... still in incognito page. hope this helped you and the team!!!
