Conditional custom fields
Brittany Myers
It would be great to have custom fields conditional based on time estimates (i.e. high effort if > 20 hours estimated).

Why is this not yet in process when 200+ people voted for it and its already 2+ years there 🙈

a lot of these things could be easily achieved if automations could read formula fields and write dynamic data to other fields

Or on task type

This would be revolutionary on the database architecture and custom item types clickup is working on.
This will make my workflow very tidy as I can assign custom fields based on my responses to other fields and thus only necessary fields will be filled

Make a field required based on other field value. For example:
Long Distance Job? (Checkbox)
Distance in Miles (Number) - becomes required if the checkbox above is selected.
Thank you!

The new conditional form logic is not good. If you cant have all or at least custom fields, dropdowns, and button selections in an if then else statement, how can you even call this conditions. Highly disappointed.

I would love a way to be able to set options for custom fields, based on what you have chosen for other custom fields.
In my particular case, I would like certain custom fields to show only if another custom field has been filled in in a certain way, and also I want to make sure custom fields 2 and 3 are filled in if custom field 1 has been filled in, so they are not left blank.
E.g., I choose a value for dropdown 1, I want to then be presented with options to choose dropdown 2 and dropdown 3 straight away.
Or I choose a value for dropdown 1, then am presented with options for dropdown 2, then dropdown 3 if dropdown 2 is filled in.
Those sorts of things.
This would help you to remember to fill in custom fields that are needed.

Guy Mannerings: This is exactly what I want to be able to do too! Hopefully this will get some attention at some point

Guy Mannerings: yes! this.
David Hildred
Guy Mannerings: Agreed! This would be a very valuable tool! I think that linking secondary list items with multiple primary lists would also be helpful:
Example:
List Values:
List 1
- Option 1
- Option 2
- Option 3
List 2
- Option 1 (can be used for list 1 opt 1 or 2, but not 3)
- Option 2 (can only be used for list 1 opt 1)
- Option 3 (can be used for list 1 opt 2 or 3, but not 1)
- Option 4 (can only be used for list 1 opt 2)
- Option 5 (can only be used for list 1 opt 2)
- Option 6 (can only be used for list 1 opt 3)
- Option 7 (can only be used for list 1 opt 3)
- Option 8 (can only be used for list 1 opt 1)
- Option 9 (can only be used for list 1 opt 2)
- Option 10 (can only be used for list 1 opt 2)
This is how it would look:
* When list 1 Option 1 is selected:
- List 2 Option 1
- List 2 Option 2
- List 2 Option 8
* When list 1 Option 2 is selected:
- List 2 Option 1
- List 2 Option 3
- List 2 Option 4
- List 2 Option 5
- List 2 Option 9
- List 2 Option 10
* When list 1 Option 3 is selected:
- List 2 Option 3
- List 2 Option 6
- List 2 Option 7

Global Field with Custom Values
Marco Hanke
I would like to have a customfield in all my Lists (space scope) but the values should be in list scope.
I have a Field "Feature" in all my lists to combine Tasks with the same Feature (for example a JobSearch on a Website).
I have multiple Lists with JobSearch Tasks (but not all). So i like to see all Tasks in my Space which belongs to Jobsearch. I tried to create this field in space scope, but no i have dozens of Tags in there which is annoying. Also some customers have access to their list and they see all the tags from all lists which is annoying as well.

Thanks Marco! I'm going to merge this into the existing FR for supporting conditional Custom Fields (& values) so we can track the feedback in one place.
