Comments in subtasks visible in Activity Feed + Activity Stream
Eliza Witkowska
Because of many depth of tasks, it would be great if comments inside subtasks would also be visible in main task. Maybe with an opt-in/out toggle, similar how it's done in listings with option to see subtasks.
The goal is, to have ALL related comments visible within task preview.
Currently there is no way to see there are any comments inside subtask and it would be nice to see full activity for task including subtasks/checklists.

I really can't wait to see this implemented. Especially if it's done as I suggested. This has been a bit more able to be overcome by AI - but with the cost of credits - we need to have easier ways for this to be done.

Option to have a task comment thread includes comments from the sub-tasks

Have the comment thread of a tasks optionally include all of the comments from the all the sub-tasks within that task. This will ensure that sub-task comments are not overlooked, especially as they are completed but the main task is not completed yet.

ClickApp to make subtask comments flow into and show on the main tasks

One of the things that I thought would be incredible is if we could activate a feature on a per space basis that allows us to enable sub tasks to flow any comments left on them into the comment thread on the main task. Maybe an “All, Only This Task, Only Subtasks” view that you can toggle? I was thinking just a clickapp that once turned on automatically does this for us.
While there are workarounds to handling subtasks effectively (such as the view subtasks as separate tasks feature) - I feel that the complexity of having to view comments on subtasks does cause slowdowns for many teams. To enough of a degree that I heard in a webinar about not using subtasks at all as a way of increasing productivity - which pretty much breaks this advanced functionality. On that note - enabling this would be a way to fix that problem. :)
It would be cool if we could see the subtask each comment came from as well at the top of the comment (just how it looks when you @ a task). So if you have like 14 nested subtasks all over the place in a large project, I know that if I go to the comments pane for the main project - that I can get a great idea of all the comments left on each subtask. No matter how nested it was - I should see all comments in the main thread. What do you guys think?

This is very much needed

This would be super helpful with our setup! We have many subtasks under main tasks and it can be a pain to figure out where everything is

As Yvanna McCormack has suggested, clickup should add a stream/chat roll up similar how to wrike rolls up comments from subtasks to tasks to projects to folders to space stream. A overarching global chat feature shoud be implemented to achieve this. Particularly valuable for executive overviews.

+1 this is a must and saves duplication of comments! Currently, I'm copying the link to the assigned comment in the subtask and pasting it into the main task. It would be fantastic if all comments from subtasks could be seen in the main task's activity feed. This would save time and make tracking conversations much easier.

I want to ask for this again! This would really help with our workflow. Or at least create a button in the subtask comments so that the comment can be easily copied to the parent comment thread.

Making a second comment to be the squeaky wheel. This should function kind of like replying to an Apple iMessage now.

This! Came here to ask for this as well. Come on ClickUp. Let's get this!
