I would also like the option to make columns much narrower in a list view. In 3.0 the narrowest width is still way to wide. I like to keep all my columns on one screen without scrolling to the right and with 3.0 I see less information without having to scroll. In the attached picture all the columns in the red box are as narrow as I can make them but still wider than I'd like.

In 2.0, list view columns can be very narrow, which saves lot of horizontal space. I can't seem to make columns as narrow in 3.0, which takes up too much real estate
