Clips - Needs Editing Functionality
Robert Norris
Hello ClickUp team! Clips has a ton of potential, but my organization simply cannot adopt it without some of the key features provided by Loom, or even Zoom Clips. Most notably, without the ability to edit Clips, it's just not a viable productivity-enhancing tool. Please provide editing features so that we can take a look at adopting it long-term. Thanks!

I run multiple businesses out of ClickUp and I'm pushing the platform harder than most users ever will.
Right now I'm scaling a trucking company (fleet management, driver contracts, dispatch, compliance). Next is a real estate development company (rental properties, construction timelines, contractor management). I'm also writing a book series and developing it into a screenplay. The end goal? Full video and film production.
Every single one of these ventures lives in ClickUp. Docs, tasks, project tracking, AI, all of it. But the moment I need to create video content, whether it's a 2-minute accountability post about a vendor, a driver training clip, a property walkthrough, or eventually a short film, I have to leave the platform entirely.
I'm not asking for Final Cut Pro. I'm asking for the natural next step: basic video editing, text overlays, clip stitching, trimming. You already record and transcribe. You already generate slides and dashboards with AI. Video creation is the obvious gap.
ClickUp calls itself the everything app. I'm trying to use it that way. From trucking operations to real estate to entertainment production, all under one roof. Give us video tools and there's genuinely nowhere else we'd ever need to go.
I can't be the only entrepreneur on here who's building across multiple industries and needs this. Put it on the roadmap.

We also really need this!

Cut/Trim is desperately needed..without that you can make an entire video unable to use from something that happens in a few seconds.

Trimming clips will enable users(who forget to stop recording) to adjust the clips to the correct duration.

The ability to trim / crop the length of a video would be helpful.
When I stop the screenrecodring it shows private tasks and information that I dont want to be part of the video. The new 3 second delay on start helps solve the beginning, but the ending is still the same 😅. Would be helpful to be able to have simple trimming, cutting ability for the videos.

We use clips extensively. They are key in providing our internal team on clip context on anything from bugs that we find, qa instructions, visuals for sop's, etc etc. The use cases are endless.
However, a huge gap is the inability to clip/crop/cut, whatever you'd like to call it.
A ton of time gets wasted in re-doing videos because many times things happen when you don't want them to, and usually that's when your recording. Snagit which we use alot as well company wide can clip portions you select out of a video and its a huge time saver as you can keep the video running, and edit out whatever needs to be removed afterwards without wasting the rest of the video and restarting.
Now that clips have their own space and it looks like its a feature that's getting attention with an Ai notetaker and its own managed space, adding some actual functionality to the clips themselves would be great.
