Clickup silently removing features: Backlink Doc -> Task broken
not on the roadmap

It used to be that when a task was mentioned inside a doc, a backlink reference (https://help.clickup.com/hc/en-us/articles/6309152582935-Create-and-view-Reference-Relationships) was created in the task back to the document.
This enabled a primary workflow where you could create tasks from documents (RMB -> Create Task) and the task would have a backreference to the document which we use to create tasks from meetings.
It seems this is now broken.
Having contacted support, they acknowledge this used to work, but this is now accepted behavior and the linked official document has been silently updated.
I follow the clickupdates, and have seen no mention of this feature being removed.

The official documentation also still mentions this as a feature:
> ClickUp automatically creates references to keep track of related content when you mention or copy and paste links to tasks and Docs.
> When you mention a task or Doc using the @mention feature, we'll automatically add them to the References table. This is great when you have tasks or Docs that are related, but not necessarily dependent on each other, and want to keep track of where they're being discussed

Clickup Support reply:
Thank you for letting us know that you are no longer seeing Docs in relationships for tasks when the task is mentioned in the Doc!
I chatted with our product team and although this was something that used to happen, currently this is actually not a bug! Mentioning a Doc inside of a task automatically creates a Backlink Relationship, but at this time, the reverse is not possible. 🙏
However, this idea is worth exploring!
So we now need to silently discover that features are removed?
Do I need to start checking every feature manually to see whether it actually still works as intended?
Do I just need to wait until Clickup decides to break features and decides it no longer wants to support them?
