Click Escape to Exit a Field
Bryan Postelnek
When using a custom field, when I hit escape, it should exit out of the field and save my information. Or let me hit enter. Either way, it's a very frustrating experience to need to find some place to click away from the field in order to save it.
I'm using Desktop and I'm editing custom text fields in List view when this happens.

Our team works in ClickUp daily, and small inefficiencies add up quickly. The fact that pressing Escape does not exit a field interrupts focus and slows down data entry.
This is not just a “nice to have” — it is a simple usability fix that would save time across entire teams. Every second counts when entering and updating multiple tasks, and this improvement would streamline the workflow for power users and casual users alike.

This really needs to happen. Having to click away just to exit a field slows down workflow and feels unintuitive. Pressing Escape (or Enter) to exit and save would be a huge improvement to efficiency, especially for users working in List view all day.
Many of us rely on fast keyboard actions, and this small change would have a big impact. Please prioritize this update—we have been waiting a long time for it, and it would make ClickUp much smoother and more user-friendly.

It would really improve the user experience if hitting Escape or Enter while editing a custom field would save the entry and exit the field. Right now, having to click away manually feels unintuitive and slows down the workflow, especially when working in List view on Desktop. A small change like this could make a big difference in usability.

+1 to this request — totally agree. It would significantly improve the user experience if hitting Escape exited the field and saved the input, or if pressing Enter did the same. Having to manually click away to save feels unintuitive, especially in list view where you're working quickly. This small change could really streamline editing workflows on Desktop. Appreciate any consideration the team can give this!
