Problem
When I ask ClickUp Brain to create a task in a chat where I've uploaded files, Brain attaches those uploads to the new task automatically. This happens even when I explicitly say which file(s) to attach, or that none should be attached. My selection is ignored, so tasks end up with unrelated or confidential files.
Current behavior
Every file uploaded in the chat is attached to any task Brain creates.
Explicit instructions such as "attach only file X" or "don't attach anything" have no effect.
The attachments can only be fixed manually after the task exists.
Expected behavior
Brain attaches only the files I explicitly select, or none by default.
If it's unclear which files belong on the task, Brain asks before attaching.
Why it matters
Data hygiene and privacy: Files meant as context for Brain (internal documents, drafts, exports) end up on tasks visible to other people, such as guests or shared Lists.
Workspace clutter: Unwanted attachments have to be removed by hand.
Predictability: An instruction that is silently ignored makes it hard to trust Brain with task creation.
Suggested solution
Treat chat uploads as context for Brain only, and attach them to a task only on explicit request. Optionally, show an attachment picker in the task-creation confirmation step, or add a workspace-level setting to turn off auto-attaching.
