Box View Workload Resourcing
Laura Petri
With the Workload: Time Estimates box view, I really wish it would count logged time as "done" so that you could get a better view of your actual progress. If I am looking at my team's workload to see if they are on track to finish their workload in a given week, I can't see their actual progress. Especially if there is a task that is estimated to take 30 hours, I can't see the work they have completed so far until they have completed the task. This doesn't help me resource my team and their tasks appropriately.
I know I can see this in the reports but I can't filter it down to see just my direct reports. I see everyone or user by user. I can't effectively manage my direct team's workload and weekly progress on that workload unless the box view better tracks logged time against their workload hours.

It would be great for the PO to be able to see the remaining estimates of team members for the reallocation of tasks. For example, I know we have 3 developers and 4 weeks until launch, so 160 hours per developer. So if I see that 2 developers have an estimated 180 hours left, and one has 120, I can redistribute the inactive tasks so that everyone has 160 hours left. This can be a "Time Estimate Left" version.

This 100% this. I find the box view essentially worthless for us because the remaining time is never accurate as it doesn't factor in work done to date.

It's best if this can be an option that can be turned off. Teams like mine estimate and burn down in man hours, but we don't track time (because many engineers feel it's invasive). So the current Box View works for us -- we just define "READY FOR PROD" state as a "DONE" state. But I can understand why consulting organizations need this.

it is pretty critical when looking at resourcing to be able to compare estimated time to logged time to understand team members capacity

Ah, yes! It would be great to see the progress of the "time tracked" laid over or adjacent to the "time estimate"!
