Need ability to restrict who can and cannot see and who can and cannot change Automations. Automations should still be able to run when conditions are satisfied, but their existence should be made invisible to selected users or roles if/when necessary.

Granular "Manage Automations" Permission

The problem: We need certain users (limited members) to have edit access to tasks in a location but NOT be able to create, modify, or delete automations in that same location. Currently, automation access is tied directly to edit permissions, so there's no way to separate the two.
What we'd like: A dedicated "Manage Automations" custom role permission (similar to how "Manage Custom Fields" works) that can be toggled independently of task edit access. This would let us give team members full task editing while reserving automation configuration for admins/owners only.
Use case: We have automations running critical workflows (deed processing, time tracking, etc.) and need to prevent accidental edits or deletions by team members who otherwise need to work tasks in those lists daily.

Adding this restriction will significantly help mitigate potential errors caused by project team members inadvertently clicking into automation and making changes without realizing it.

This would be a very useful improvement for teams using ClickUp at scale. Having more granular permissions for automations would give admins better control over who can create, edit, or manage automated workflows, while also helping prevent accidental changes to important processes.

I would like to have a right on fields that make them editable by automation only, to be able to keep track of things, that people can not modify (like a Chain-ID in cycling tasks)

I want my team to feel comfortable creating their own automations, yet it scares me that they can edit or delete our workflow automations.

As many have expressed over a several year period, the ability to restrict automation permissions is critical. After working with the ClickUp team in an effort to find a workaround, I was encouraged to post a comment here for consideration. After reading through the previous posts, I'll admit, I am bit discouraged this has been a topic of conversation for several years with no resolution to date. As a recent subscriber of the Enterprise subscription, this feature deficit poses a major problem for our ability to confidently utilize the program for concerns of inadvertent manipulation of automations.
Please make this a programming priority. Ideally, a toggle would be added to the detailed permissions page so custom permissions could include automation restrictions while still allowing users to create tasks, update statuses, etc.
