Having this option could really open things up for managing costs!

PLEASE🙏!! Automation to update time estimates based on time logged
Stefan Rublowsky
If we have a time estimate of 20 hours for one staff over 2 weeks, if they don't log any time the first week, then in reality they have 20 hours of work the second week. But the Workload view still shows 10 hours the first week (which doesn't exist) and 10 hours the second week (but its really 20 hours). The automation should allocate the remaining time to the remaining schedule, so the Workload view is meaningful. If we can't have this automated, time estimates are almost useless, and we can't really use CU for resource planning. For our workflow it's impossible to do this type of update manually, with hundreds of tasks across many team members. Seems like a very simple calculation, and it would be an easy ClickApp, or ClickApp setting. Would be a game changer for us.

Automation triggers and conditions for TIME BUDGET ALERTING
Andreas Otto
We want to automatically assign „CRITICAL" status to tasks once the tracked time exceeds the time estimate. For this we are missing
- a condition "Time Estimate is smaller than Time tracked" for setting the alert (so far only absolute numbers can be specified here)
- a trigger "Time Estimate changes" for resetting the alarm (as soon as a user has increased the time budget in response to the alarm).
Please include this feature request in your roadmap.

Estimation tracker/Over-estimate alert
Ksenija Čerņavska
Hello! Is it possible to create a plugin or additional automation feature to track the estimation of the task? For example, I estimated that the task will take 16h, and my developer log in work-time every day. Is it possible to set an alert for the project manager/task watcher if the estimated time goes over 70%?

Currently one can select 'time tracked', but can't really do anything more with it.

Trigger | tracked time exceeds manual amount without having to set an estimate
Rebecca Holderbaum
It would be very helpful if there would be a trigger in automations to set a manual amount of time - without having to set estimates on each single task.
We do have customers who buy a certain amount of hours (e.g. 200) which go into the estimate but want to be informed if tasks might take longer than e.g. 5 hours - therefore we should be able to set an automation to be fired when reaching 2 tracked hours.
Any updates on this?

Ability to use Time Tracked in Automations
Anton Bearsley
I would like to be able to identify when tasks are closed with no Time Tracked against them, and trigger a Comment to the Assignee using an Automation. Unfortunately Time Tracked is not an option for Automations.

Automation trigger for when time tracked reaches a certain % toward time estimated

Absolutely - time tracking should be usable in automation triggers! We're tracking this already, so merging them together. Thanks for posting!

Love the percentage threshold idea! This falls under time tracking automation triggers we're tracking. Merging - appreciate you sharing your use case! ⏱️
