Automatic Table of Contents for Docs (like a wiki)

It would be great if there were an option to automatically create a list of links to all the child pages within a given docs page. Right now we have to manually create links to each child item manually.

Enable the new subpages settings on your Doc to visualize your subpages like a pro!

Brendan W: how would this be done exactly? looking for this setting but not seeing it. Thanks!
Brendan W
Kasey: Happy to help! Check out this photo, showing the subpages automatically showing on the parent page. You can also adjust this by hovering over it to change the size, as well as navigating to the right sidebar in Docs to disable showing of subtasks!
Kasey
Brendan W: got it, thanks!

Kasey: You're welcome!

This sounds like the actual sidebar that shows the list of pages. You don't have to manually create links to each child item. Or am I missing something?

Right, it is an urgent need for Clickup to become a serious documentation tool!
I need to build a table of pages built from the subpages and then have an option to describe each subpage.

Fully agree, please add this feature. We can build complete category structure using table of contents for subpages.
Katsu
Please also add the ability to toggle the Table of Content.

This feature would be super-helpful for newbies and guests to the system. That’s where I’m finding the biggest need. My experienced people look at the list of pages, can create new pages, and can find what they need. My not-so-experienced team members don’t see something on the first page and just recreate it on that first page with no realization that there are other pages to look at, and then I have to go move it and link it. Even though it’s right there, under an icon, and all they have to do is click the arrow icon and see the other pages, some people are not that savvy (yet). But even those people know how to interact with a table of contents that’s automatically generated.
Maybe a slash command like /index to auto-generate an auto-updating list of all sub pages in the Doc.

I'm using the table of contents in ClickUp, which I like. But I'd like to also have an option for an always-visible side menu (based on headings, like the table of contents) so I can easily view and click to move around the doc. Incredibly useful for a long doc

I would really love to have a ToC on the parent page that includes the headings in the child pages.
