Auto-stop timer when task DONE or moved
Oliver Martin
I'd like my timers to stop when:
- They are marked as DONE
- When tasks are moved to certain stages, such as "IN REVIEW".*
*To make this work I presume it would require some form of setup, like turning it on for certain stages and not others.

There should be an option to choose whether the user wants time tracking to be cumulative with repetition or if it should be restarted with each new occurrence.

This takes 10-15 minutes to build using the API :)

Any update on this feature? Is there any alternate way to automate it.?
Austin Hodges
Gauri Shankar Jha you can automate using zapier or make. I have an automation that starts the timer when a task is moved to a certain status and stops it when it moves out of that status.
1 - Zapier Catch a Webhook
2 - Zapier Path, identify if task is in progress or not
3 - Start Timer on task when in progress
4 - Stop Timer on task when not in progress

Agree. There needs to be .some limits set so the time automatically turns itself off, I have numerous time when the time is left over night, then spend all morning trying to adjust times on projects. Let AI do it for you.

Please can this be done soon? A small change that will be a game changer for many! This should have been a function available from the beginning.
Austin Hodges
Jandre De La Rey Use zapier or make in the meantime. See my comment above to Gaurishanker Jha

I agree. It is annoying to mark a task done and have to turn off the timer separately. It would be much more intuitive to click done and have the timer automatically turn off.

First off, when you Click a Timer it should relocate or show up to the verrrry top of the App where the Favorites sometimes show up, and then you can turn off the Timer from wherever you are in ClickUp and not have to remember which ones you left ticking and have to go back to that Task.
The ClickUp Task Timer is kind of completely pointless without some type of settings being available. Otherwise my employees just always forget to turn them off and I spend more time fixing things than its worth it!
