I loved using the Vertabase Timer:

When timing a task, a reminder sound would go off every ten(adjustable) minutes, to let you know the timer is still running.

When timing a task, the timer stops when the computer has been idle for ten(adjustable) minutes.

These redundancies ensured my task times where accurate for costing purposes.
