Apply filtering to subtasks and checklists
Tomasz Banas
Subtask filtering should also apply to checklist items.
It's intuitive, as a divider is placed above TODO header, and next header of the same size is ATTACHMENTS.

When I filter a view to not show certain statuses, I would like to not see those statuses when I expand a task to show the subtasks as well. This is essential to reducing the clutter.

+1 to this. We're using 3 levels of task, and the filtering behaves very erratically and is more of less worthless.
What I'd expect/love to see:
* Subtasks can either be collapsed or expanded
* Filters apply to subtasks OR parent tasks
Current behavior: filtering applies to parent only, so a filter of "Status = To Do" doesn't show the parent or its subtasks if the parent has a Status of "In Progress"
Desired behavior: filtering applies to parent or subtask, so a filter of "Status = To Do" shows subtasks with a status of "To Do" even if the parent is "In Progress" (e.g. some progress has been made but the parent isn't yet complete).

Must needed, especially with tasks that are group nested. Filters are very limited and behave unexpectedly with nested sub tasks scenario.

I can see there is very little attention being given to this feature, but filtering that includes subtasks (whether they are collapsed, expanded, or shown as separate tasks) is a must, otherwise filtering is nearly useless.

I need the ability to create an overall project plan that includes project plan, comm's plan and change plan. Then create views that display both the milestones and assigned tasks within each milestone. Currently only able to view all the tasks irrespective of the plan, or just the tasks with an annoying parent level relationship shown.

Did this feature ever get added? Desperately need it too.

I would love to be able to filter subtasks as well. I've been adding "buy" tags to subtasks that include making a purchase so that I could (in theory) filter tags for all spaces to see everything I need to buy. That way I can get it all at once if possible. Unfortunately, because subtasks' tags (and other settings) aren't detected by filtering, all the ways I've tried to do this have failed.

We are quite desperately in need of this feature, and I can't imagine it would be the hardest to implement. Even if it was a toggle on/off option. With nested subtasks now in the picture, it would be really helpful to be able to filter on these or even remove a lower level from view entirely (by way of custom field) to, for instance, show the milestones and checkpoints of a project in a Gantt view, without being subject to all of the tasks that sit underneath them, cluttering the view

I would like to be able to add checklists to recurring tasks & then create a goal which counts the number of times that the checklist item has been completed over a certain period of time. For example, say I set a recurring task which was 'order fulfilment' to be completed every day by a member of my team. The checklist could include items such as 'all orders sent next day'; 'all orders sent with sustainable packaging' etc. I could then create a folder full of goals called '2021 Order Fulfilment Objectives'. An example of a couple of goals I could create: '100% of orders sent with sustainable packaging' - this could be linked to counting the number of times the checklist item is marked completed, hence serving as a useful way to manage KPIs in ClickUp. It would be great to even go a step further than that. For example, the goal could be measured based on this particular criteria but could also have other success criteria such as a set of tasks linked to the goal that will ensure the KPI is hit. In this particular case, a set of tasks such as 'Order kraft tape', 'Purchase sustainable mailer bags from supplier' could be tasks that serve as success criteria that will help to meet the target.

There should be an option for the "Filter by task name..." function to also find subtasks that match the entered string. Currently this only works when "Subtasks: Show as separate tasks" is activated. It would be nice if you could also use it when showing the tasks and subtasks in a tree structure.
