Allowing a "Save as" feature for templates/columns that actually makes a fully unique instance of everything in the template
not on the roadmap
Blake Hodges
What I want to do: load a "starting point" custom template, then modify that template to fit the needs of that space.
What's happening: changes I make, specifically changing column and option names, "ripple" across all other previous Lists using that same starting template. This happens whether or not I "update the template."
The Feature I want to see: Something akin to a "Save as a Copy" feature. Where I load a template but the entire thing is duplicated, so I can make any and all modifications to the template, and it does not affect any other lists using the prior version of that template. This could be accomplished by allowing a "Duplicate" in the template selection prompt, or some kind of "Save As a Copy" feature in the template menu of the list. Even if I use the "Save As" feature in List Settings>Templates>Save As, then make modifications to that template, it still ripples those changes across all other instances of the earlier loaded template. Thanks!
