Currently, the time tracking icon in the top right navigation bar only allows you to stop an active timer. If no timer is running, clicking it or looking at it only gives the option to create a new task or manually open the tracking window to search for a task. When a timer isn't running, I lose too much time searching for the specific task I want to track. This workflow is distracting, breaks my focus, and ultimately leads to lower user adoption (UX friction), as I often forget to track time because the process is too tedious.
I would like to see a "Start Timer" or "Play" button directly in the top right global navigation menu (Quick Action area). Clicking it should immediately open the quick-track dropdown where I can instantly select a recent task or search for an existing one and hit play, without having to navigate away from my current view.
This small change would greatly improve regular time tracking habits. It removes the friction of searching for tasks across different lists and keeps me focused on actual work.
