Allow Required Notification Settings to be turned off
Sam Coster
The Status Changes clog up our 'All' notification feeds - we'd prefer to be able to not be notified when statuses change. Until then, we use the two other options "Assigned to me" and "Mentions". We genuinely don't care about things changing status, as many have automations that create downstream tasks and such.

Ability to turn off in-app "Status Change" notifications

The inability to turn off "Status Change" notifications makes the in-app notifications system un-usable for me. I've resorted to ignoring in-app notifications entirely, and now rely only on email notifications.

Please don't force me to receive status change notifications!

My notification inbox in the web app gets spammed to death with status changes.
The settings say that this is mandatory "to ensure important activity isn't lost", but I the user should have the freedom to decide what's important to me and what isn't; I shouldn't have this dictated to me by the app. I know for a fact that I don't need to be notified by task status changes, and they drown out all the useful info from other notifications. So why can't I disable them?

Disable notification of tasks assigned to me
Steve
Allow me to disable notifications for tasks assigned to me. My inbox is flooded with tasks that aren't due for months. This noise is drowning out the notifications that I do need. My inbox is unusable with these notifications. There shouldn't be any notification setting that is locked.

Requesting that tasks assigned to me can be toggled off please.

The inbox gets too overwhelming. The ability to toggle off "tasks assigned to me" and saving the preferred filter view is a must.

I get far too many notifications for them to be useful and they are intrusive.
Please:
1) let me disable all of them, it's up to me what I see not you
2) let me disable being automatically added as a watcher on tasks in different cases
I am a PO, I create a lot of tasks, I don't want to hear about most of them in minute detail.

Remove "required" notifications

The less obligatory stuff, the better.
I want to be able to disable any notifications I want. Otherwise I will quickly start ignoring the bell, because e.g. I will get notification every time I create a task assigned to me (notification completely pointless, but mandatory).

Why is this still a thing 5 years after this thread was first posted?
Now my notification area constantly says 99+ and is completely useless because all the things I want to turn off here are "required"
I only want to see @ comments and DMs and I don't even know where those are anymore. This notifications area and settings feel like i'm diffusing a bomb. Where are the things I actually need to see? Buried in a 99+ number that i'll never understand or notice, missing all my real notifications.

Hi ClickUp Support Team, Every time I sign in to ClickUp, I see an animation related to "4.0." I find this animation disruptive and would prefer not to see it each time I log in. Is there a way to disable or turn off this animation? If not, I’d like to request an option to do so in the future. Thank you for your help!

Not just status feeds but the ability to stop the platform from sending email notifications for your entire organization.
When migrating from another platform, I needed to pre-load all the users so we could migrate tasks, comments, timelogs and assign them to right user. There was no way to load in the users without triggering the invite email. We did our best to hedge it but still ended up with a confused team member when they got the invite before we were launching. It is hard to quantify but across the 70 or so people at my org we lost about 6-10 hours of productivity every time people are confused by these emails
Another example is turning on the setting to allow admins to view private spaces. The expectation of the team is that nothing is private from the Owner or Admins in there, so when turning on that setting, people were confused because most didn't have a private view or space. Again, another 6-10 hours of productivity lost. If we apply our bill rate to that, it's thousands of dollars each time one of these email notifications confuses people. And that is after we've posted and proactively communicated.
