Allow default sorting options for folders, docs, etc.
Julie Runez
All items should have default sort options. For example, I would love to have my spaces default to appear in alphabetical order, the folders within those spaces to default to alphabetical, and for our meeting minutes to default to appear by date. Instead, when I use my template to create a new page for a new meeting, it appears randomly inserted in the list of meeting notes. I have to find it, then manually move it in line chronologically. Same with dashboards. We create a customer dashboard for every project we do. We can have 20 or more dashboards, but I have to scroll through the list searching for the one I need.
This request was previously closed without action but I feel it is necessary and useful, and I'm not alone. Here is another user's comment on the original request:
I would REALLY like this for Lists! I have an automation that creates an End of Day report from ClickUp Chat by taking the message and turning it into a List Item. The automation puts the date as the beginning of the item title. However, I have to manually figure out how to sort in reverse EVERY TIME I OPEN THE PAGE. Why can't I default the sorting?

Hey Julie Runez! I want to ensure I'm understanding the items you're looking to sort correctly.
When you say "I would love to have... meeting minutes to default to appear by date" are those tasks within a list, pages of a doc, tasks? And for the dashboards, are you creating those as dashboard views in the sidebar?
Would love to understand the specific areas the sorting options would be applied. Totally understand the Spaces and Folders mention and we have that request tracked here: https://feedback.clickup.com/admin/feedback/feature-requests/p/spaces-order-alphabetically?boards=feature-requests&categories=hierarchy&search=alphabet&status=open_considering_planned_building-now

Vincent Varghese our meeting minutes are organized by year. Each year is a document, and each meeting is a page of the document. When I add a new page, it adds it to the bottom of the document, but when I apply the template to the new page, it jumps around in the order. Not sure why.
For the dashboards, half of our dashboards (the ones we use internally) are dasboard views in our project folders. Half of them are created manually in dashboards because they are for customers and permissions have to be carefully curated. They all appear in the dashboard area, though, and it would be great if they could be grouped and sorted. We have assembly dashboards, engineering dashboards, and customer portal dashboards. I would love to be able to group them by type and then alphabetize them within those groups, but I would settle for just alphabetizing.
