I’d like to submit a feature request related to Calendar and Timeline views.

Currently, Calendar and Timeline views only pull dates from a task’s Start Date and Due Date. This limits usability for teams that rely on custom date fields to manage their workflows.

It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to select a custom date field as the source for Calendar and Timeline views instead of being restricted to Start/Due dates.

For example, at my company we use a custom field called Install Date that represents the actual date work is performed. Our Start and Due dates are often used for internal planning, lead time, or scheduling buffers, not the real execution date. Because of this, the Calendar view does not accurately reflect our schedule.

Requested enhancement:

Allow users to choose which date field (Start Date, Due Date, or any custom date field) a Calendar or Timeline view is based on.

Ideally, this could be configured per view.

This would greatly improve flexibility and make Calendar and Timeline views far more useful for teams with custom workflows.
