We are currently working with guest accounts for some of our customers. These guest accounts can comment on tasks and are able to mention workspace users using @mentions.
While we understand this can be a useful collaboration feature in many scenarios, it does not fit all use cases. In our environment, guest users are supposed to be restricted to submitting and discussing their own requests. For example, we use guest accounts for customers who should be able to create tasks and communicate through comments, but should not be able to directly notify or escalate requests to individual internal employees through @mentions.
Feature Request:
We would like a workspace, folder, or guest permission setting that allows administrators to disable @mentions for guest users.
Benefits
  • Prevent guest users from directly notifying internal workspace members.
  • Provide more granular control over guest permissions.
  • Better support organizations that use ClickUp as a customer-facing portal or external request management system.
  • Reduce the risk of unnecessary notifications and interruptions for internal teams.
