AI Summary of ClickUp lists
in progress
Sam Manaberi
I'd find it helpful to be able to get AI generated summaries of entire ClickUp lists and be able to ask follow up questions.
Thanks

For future travels of this feature request - Please us know what types of questions you would ask on the List that a summary feature would help you with!
Example: "Summarize the work done in the last 7 days"
Yes, we do plan on building this feature.

Zach - ClickUp On the project update prompt, is there any way we can add "Last 2 weeks" as an option. 2-week sprints are quite common and it would be very helpful to be able to look out over the past sprint to retrieve updates.

It would be great to ask AI to summarize a folder / list or space in order to say : 1) What has been done recently, what is currently in Progress and will be done in the futur. This would be very usefull to speed up customer reporting

Just some other takes sorry if theyve been covererd already. We run an AI solutions agency and see sooo many issues with big tech companies almost throwing Ai into their software. Thankfully not Clickup it's not bad(i dont use brain).
Any AI related use where you're asking for a personalised response means you HAVE to have the ability to upload documents of examples, tone of voice etc. (this at thebasic level).
Are there any articles anywhere regarding context windows? Or how long is the context window? Whats the base model/s? Llama fine tune?
We'd benefit A LOT if it was simply available out of the app. e dont run task management from Clickup, but we do use it every day as a knowledge base and some project planning. So being able to use Slack to grab bits of info quick would im pretty sure save everyone here a lot of time.
Might be a way around this as i mentioned in my last post but being able to build ur multi agents to essentially cary out a lotof our work within clickup would be great, but as far as I've looked there isn't enough access on the API to do this. Might be wrong. Will dig deep this weekend.

Similar to what Notion are bringing in is to use Clickup as a database we can question from other apps. Slack being the primary one. This would be a complete game changer. Just thinking out loud but is there a way to API out all of your Clickup space that is actually structured slightly (unlike exports). he reason I ask is we could use Clickup > upsert to Pinecone > LLM > Query from slack. And have the VD run every week to update the vector database thinking of a work around as we use Click up simply as a database not for task management.

Holly Peck Thank you for this. Are they ever considering adding AI Summary for spaces / folders instead of just lists? Or this would be a different feature request?

Zach - ClickUp any update on this?

Not just summaries - it should be able to answer questions based on the List.
It would probably be helpful if ClickUp AI understood Custom Fields as well. Like if we set Custom Field descriptions, it should understand them.
E.g., I have various Custom Fields that might suggest different levels of importance (Goals vs Sub-Goals, Priority, etc). It would be great if it understood them.
Or, e.g., I have Custom Fields that might relate Tasks to different projects. It would be great if it understood that.

ClickUp AI does NOT use a List as a reference, but suggests it does
I opened ClickUp AI when on a List view (and Everything List view, if that matters).
It said "I see you're working on a project, what can I help with?" - suggesting it can reference the List.
I asked it a question about what my most important Tasks were.
It then gave back a short list based on
nothing
in the List I was looking at.Here are the problems it gave:-
- Returned Tasks that were not in the List.
- Correctly only showed one Task from the List.
- It did not show the List as a used Resource - it only showed random Tasks. It should show ONLY the List if I have used the List as the starting reference point. If I have asked it about the List and OTHER areas of ClickUp, then fine. But I didn't.
- The "4 Resources" it showed included closed Tasks.
- Due Dates were in the wrong order - set to American order (MM/DD/YYYY) instead of my Workspace UK order (DD/MM/YYYY).
Guy Mannerings
To add, its priorities were way out, because it doesn't REALLY understand what is a priority
TO ME
with MY
set up.It was seemingly using Due Dates and the Priority field, but there were a few problems with this:-
- Some tasks get randomly prioritised over others at random (forgetting it didn't even reference the List). Like sometimes it used Due Dates and sometimes it used Priority.
- It never used my own Custom Field that I have made that is my main used priority Custom Field. I basically have a Custom Field that is my mainly used one, and then I only use the default Priority field to call out Urgent tasks. That allows me to have a hierarchy of tasks that a simple "Priority" field does not allow. The only way it could ever know this is if it could understand Custom Field descriptions, or if I have a way of training itto know - like I can tell it in some settings area what each Custom Field really means.
- Because ClickUp as a platform doesn't distinguish between Due Dates being dates that are ACTUALLY due dates, and dates where you might work on something (because to get it to show in a calendar or elsewhere, you have to set it as a Due Date even if that is not the actual due date), users have to use Custom Fields to create real due dates or real days to work on something. However, ClickUp AI has no way to understand this set up. So now it (understandably) uses Due Date as a reference, but it doesn't understand other Custom Date fields might actually take priority based on the question you ask.

Okay, I have made a request for us to be able to train ClickUp AI - https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/clickup-ai-training-so-we-can-train-it-to-understand-our-unique-setups
I think this will be really key for getting it to understand our
unique
setups, and, thus, work really well.Theron Lalla
Saw the demo, looks great so far. Will this be applicable at the folder level rather than just the list level?
