Advanced Dependency Options
planned
Jeremy Benson
Many times when scheduling I need two tasks to finish at the same time and want to know the required start dates. I would suggest that additional dependency options other than "blocks" or "is blocking" like Start/Start Start/Finish Finish/Finish and +/- days modifiers are needed.

The dependency function is far too cumbersome for clickup to move beyond task collaboration (for which is it fantastic) and become a true project management tool like MS Project, Smartsheet, and Hive.
Dependency field can only be made visible in list view, not table(!) or even Gantt(!!!)
Editing dependencies is very click-heavy and time consuming
Only finish-to-start dependencies are possible, and no lags can be included
There is no duration field
I'm glad to see traction on the parent/child task date relationship, but these other items must be fixed. These are super basic functionalities that all PM tools must have.

Ooh yes! This would be very helpful for our team. Any update on when this is planned to be worked on?

Actually I would like custom fields related to Relationships where we can input our own values of how we visualize our workflow.
These fields will be created on every link for further clarification of links.

Any update on this one ClickUp?

I wish this was done so we could stay. Great program, but bigger projects are not possible without the four dependency types and workflow/logic behind them.

Yes! Start-start and finish-finish would be incredibly useful

+100, we need to be able to use automated emails to send details of the dependencies
In addition I'd like the automate emails to also include certain tags

+1 on this as we also have a customer use case where: With many of there projects, they have use cases where a team needs to finish their testing when there is also product arriving at the factory, so we need the ability to be able to not have a start to finish dependency, it'd need to be a finish to finish or start start dependency.

I see this thread merged in several similar requests, so here's what I'm currently after:
I would like automations to be able to look at whether a dependency is given or not as a condition.
Some rules make no sense to get triggered as long as tasks are still waiting on other tasks e.g.
Thank you for your consideration.
