Add tasks quickly in inbox
Layne Heiny
I love the inbox but getting tasks there should be more natural.
Instead of adding only reminders when in the inbox, the ability to add tasks quickly (keyboard /task) would be very helpful. Reminders can be /remind.
Otherwise, I make the reminders then convert. This is too many steps. ;)

Completely agree with all the comments - having a default inbox for quickly capturing tasks for processing later is productivity 101. I can't understand why this is not available - so much unnecessary friction. And people have been asking this for over 4 years now?????

Why doesn't Clickup have a basic task 'inbox'. ie for tasks I create (and then), organise and do?

Would love this feature! Would make it easier to log tasks that can be assigned later according the the GTD system. This would prevent me from needing to make a seperate folder for the inbox within workspaces.

Agree. A clean task inbox would be much appreciated in order to add tasks on the fly. Especially for mobile. Currently, I have to navigate different lists, and that takes up a lot of time. This is really a big missing feature and should be 1.0 for all task management systems. Just having a list called 'inbox' does not do it, as it would not resolve the issue; having to go through the steps of selecting it is tedious. Ideally, the inbox should be the default list if no list is selected.

same. It should be like the GTD inbox concept (as todoist does for example): just type the title and save the task (then, in another moment, write it better, assign or whatever that it's needed)

especially when using the mobile app and you want to record a quick task, to sort out later

I find it super clunky (especially from mobile) to add a quick task. A user-specific setting for "Default List for Tasks" would help solve this where we can select our "Inbox" List for all tasks to land on then we can move later.
Also, I haven't bee super successful at natural language inputting for something like "Follow up with X tomorrow 3pm" - this would be SO much more helpful than pulling up calendars all the time.
