Add tag to list

Be able to add a tag to a list as well (optionally have the ability for everything in the list to 'inherit' that tag?).

We would love to be able to set a default tag/s to a list i.e. each of our clients use a specific software system and we'd like to be able to allocate that tag to each list (client), so we can always see at a glance, what system they're using and, also, create dashboards that can sort and filter this for us.

Yes! Lists should have the same abilities as tasks!

I am looking for this as well. My hierarchy is Roadmap (space) > FY Quarter (Folder) > Initiative (List) -- however my Initiatives also have Themes, so I need to be able to look at the Initiatives listed out by Quarter and/or Theme. Was hoping I could accomplish this by tagging each Initiative with a Theme tag OR a custom field. Is there a better way I should be organizing my things?

in this space im currently working on, i will have hundreds of lists, however i'm only planning to have 9 "types" of lists and i want to know how many of each type there are. Adding a tag to a "List" (and optionally having all tasks being "tagged") would give me the ability to have a summary of how many of each type of lists I have.

Yes this is great. I think Clickup would gain a great deal of flexibility if Tags took on some kind of folder traits. I looked at Wrike closely at one point, and the main feature that drew me to it was that instead of having "Projects" like most apps, it has a tag hierarchy. You basically tag everything, and the tag is a container that holds tasks. There are basically two types of tags: "Projects," which have a timeline, and "Folders," which do not. It's that simple. Then, tags can have hierarchies, and tasks which have multiple tags "live" in those tag Projects or Folders. So you have a very flexible system. And, the tags are the only hierarchy. So you see your whole hierarchy in your left pane, where we have Spaces, folders, etc. in Clickup.
There are limitations here though. For one, there is no way to actually "tag" anything, since the Projects/Folders are the tags. With Clickup, we have tags so with some added functionality, such as ADDING TO A LIST (forgive the caps was hoping to use bold but can't here in canny!) per this suggestion, you'd get some benefit.
I also think if tags had the ability to get set up in a Parent/child hierarchy, and you could inherit the child with a parent, it would provide additional benefit. I posted about that here:
Finally, some better reporting for Tags, which I think is a separate request. I created one here:
Many thanks guys for taking this into consideration!

And should be able to add a tag to a project.

Also looking for this. I use lists like stories/epics and would love to tag a whole list as #cost-saving-q3 or #unplanned, so I can start answering questions easily like "How many stories, that we worked on, were unplanned this sprint?" for example.

This would be awesome, especially the inheritance piece. I like to use tags for different purposes (purpose, context, time of day, energy level required, etc) and often a list would all be related from a tagging perspective for one category or another. Being able to inherit the tags from the parent list would make that so much easier to do!
