I think I'm already happy with every solution... we've been waiting for this for so long. Improvement will come after that.

Holidays are being added and so is User PTO. Here is a sneak peek of the design, what do you think?

Vasil Enchev not sure what we're supposed to be looking at or reviewing????. Do tasks with estimated hours and due dates that extend past the shown vacation get divided into the remaining work days? Do the sick time and vacation work like weekends currently do? How do we set public and personal holidays?

Vasil Enchev Please consider multi-region selections for holidays T_T

Diane Borys: Great questions - this update brings
two features
together, and both are still evolving!- Work Schedules:
These will be managed in
Workspace Settings
. For now, it’s a single shared schedule per workspace, where you can define regional holidays
(they behave like weekends by removing capacity). We're exploring support for
custom schedules
by team, list, or project in the future.- Time Off (PTO, Sick Leave, etc.):
Users can log time off in multiple ways:
- From their
Profile
- Directly in
Teams Hub
- Or by
dragging on the timeline
in the Workload view This will automatically reduce their capacity to
0 hours
for the selected days.As for your question about tasks that span over time off:
✅ Yes, the system will
redistribute the estimated time across available workdays
, excluding holidays, weekends, and PTO — just like with current workload logic for weekends.Jessica Drumright
Vasil Enchev Will there be any system to request time off within what you are planning? ie. we have built a list that has a form for people to fill out that gets sent to their manager for approval. Are there going to be at least automations or something we could set up to enable an approval process for when people add time off for themselves?

Vasil Enchev Please let us customize time splits according to our requirements for tasks.
2h on 25th July, 5h on 28th, 1h on 29th and on 30 no time, etc.
Average splitting removes all context and makes managers feel they did great when they did the opposite.

Vasil Enchev would this include leave application process and management of leave balances?

Vasil Enchev: Even daily working hours should be able to be divided into at least two parts. It is: 8:30 - 12:30/14:00 - 18:00. Now it's a unique start and end time that doesn't take into account the lunch break.
Gretchen Bush
Vasil Enchev YES!! Let's get it live!!!
Evandro Araujo
meanwhile, useless icon changes and notificatinons have been implemented.
Vasil Enchev
Evandro Araujo: Totally hear you. The feature’s coming soon!
Icons matter too, promise we’re not just changing stuff for fun 😅

We're in 2025 and the ability to add holidays is still not added. Come on guy's even MS Project has this ability for over decade as it's business critical, not some nice to have.
Gary Stidston-Broadbent
Please add this, as mentioned by everyone over the past 5 years, not being able to add both public holidays and personal holidays makes resource planning extremely tedious.

Extremely frustrating that this 'basic' functionality for any project management is not in ClickUp. From all the comments it seems that this has been requested since 2021 to no avail.

ClickUp Admin I found 6 different posts relating to a user's ability to add blackout non-working days so workload, duration, and other calculations are more accurate. These disparate posts make this feature seem less popular than it is. Can you please merge and retally?

workload view is useless without adding holidays of nation and company
Mattia Galati
Having holidays and vacations to planning view woud be awesome
Miguel Sanz
Please ClickUp team, the workload view is useless if we cant add the holidays, not only form the country, but the cities and Holidays by employee. Thank you for your amazing work. Keep improving Workload views please!
