i'm not sure if this fits here but I cant find a way to export the doc with clickable toc. is there an option?

Nora Volina: I cant get this to work either, trying to send out a meeting agenda where the meeting items are headings but the ToC doesn't export - looks like back to Notion or Google Docs.
while not strictly relevant to this post - the ability to lock a document to prevent inadvertant edits should be a basic feature on all plans...

Nora Volina: I managed to copy and past to Google Docs, not ideal but it worked

Ivan Villa: You can not create a TOC in the iPad app. Please add this. I start every day on an iPad and the TOC is something that I use in every doc.
Ivan Villa
JTK: Will take a look!

Ivan Villa: it would be good if we could change the layout of the TOC. Eg. Bullets or no bullets, title show/not show, etc
Nick
Hey JTK! We will get this added into our next release 🙂

Ivan Villa: Thanks!

Looking forward to having this feature soon! My team will be adding our SOPs on the doc view - will be a great tool to navigate easily

Zeb: awesome! thank you for working on this. Will you please consider my suggestions below of a sticky sidebar? See links to competitive solutions. The rationale is that the TOC is extremely helpful during document editing. But moving back and forth between our location and the top of the page is difficult. A sticky side panel allows us to rapidly navigate around in a document of any length. Super useful!

Bruce Cannon: YES! Sticky side panel is indeed a must. Basically something like GDocs and Word has.
I'd like it if it were on the right side, because there are alreayd so many menus on the left, I'd love to be able to type centered, not looking way at the right side of my screen. Also would differenciate the TOC from the higher level menus
Jörn Weber
Bruce Cannon: I think this "sticky sidebar" feature is super important for replacing wikis etc with clickup. I used your words to create a new request. It is standard in my word and PDF documents and I'm missing it in click up. Zeb Any chance?
Bruce Cannon
Jörn Weber: Hi Jorn! There is already a request for this, called document map. Perhaps you can make comments in both to cross link them, for max upvote power? Or maybe clickup can merge.

Merged in a post:
Add a table of contents macro to docs
Amir Gur
Allow adding a table of contet in a slash command like /tableofcontents or /tc
which will insert a table of contents including links to all headlines in the doc orgenized by the order of their appearance where they are indented according to their stress.
So you would get something like this:
Header 1
Header 1
Header 2
Header 3
Header 3
Header 2
Header 1
Header 3
etc.
Note that if there are no header two it makes sense (to me) to skip the header 2 indent...
Clicking on a header will jump you to the place in the doc where the header is
Benjamin
Zeb Hey, can you merge all these together & give us an update please?
Zeb
Benjamin: Done! In progress :)
Benjamin
Zeb: Awesome, any ETA?
Benjamin
Zeb: Awesome mate
Rob
