I am loving the new task types feature, however I am frustrated that I cannot manually sort or alphabetize the order. I would really like to see this feature implemented as i'm sure many other users would as well.

I absolutely love the new Task Type feature! One thing that would be really helpful would be the ability to re-order the custom task types. This way you could have the ones you use most frequently at the top, or make them alphabetical, or whatever order makes sense to the user. Right now, they just show up in the choice list in the order they were created, which is not always the order that is best.

Currently they are ordered from A-Z when grouping by task types. This is an issue because we want to see some task types on top

Yes, would love custom sort ordering as some task types have more priority over others; sorting by name doesn't help me. Thank you.

the time I've posted this the task type list was sorted by date of creation. Now it'sorted by name A..Z, which is okay for me now.
Though, it would be nice to choose how it is sorted A..Z, Z..A, custom.

Would love to get some clarity on what exactly we are trying to sort here. As Britney mentioned, there's sorting of the list, but we've also seen other requests for manually sorting the task types themselves in the dropdown picker.

Ivan Villa the task type was set up to be sorted (for example, in groupings) according to what was created first (first in the grouping, second second, and so on). However, recently this has been changed to be based on alphabetical order. We want to have that custom sorting. I worked a lot to create my task type in a given order so it would be sorted based on the number it was created, but this has been taken away.

Ivan Villa Task type shouldn't be sorted alphabetically. It's more like priority or phases; just a specific order that we want to show things in. Being able to order it freely however we want would be amazing.

Are you asking for A to Z or Z to A as that can be done by clicking on the task type option in the group by.
I believe it goes by how the task types are in the list for the order

This will also help to organize Board views grouped by new created task types.
This is what happened to me: I created a Board View Grouped by "Task type", which include 4 additional task types I created. The system automatically set up an order from left to right that is not consistent with my workflow. I want to re-arrange that order.
I tried to drag and drop the columns (similar to how I'm able to do in other tools like Notion, Trello, etc.), but that didn't work. I tried "Customized" settings, but didn't find the one that allowed me to achieve my goal.
As a user I want to change the order of columns from left to right grouping by default and new created task types. Thx!
