Hi everyone! I am excited to share that this is available as part of the Custom Field Manager in ClickUp 3.0. I'm closing out this request, but please feel free to create new feature requests with any additional functionality you'd like to see in future versions. Thanks!

So adding/removing Custom Fields to/from various locations is a standard feature (which I do love in the new Custom Fields manager), and Merging Custom Fields is now an upsell feature.
In this case, can Workspace at least be added to the list of possible Locations, so things can be restructured at all levels? (Currently you can create custom fields in Workspace, but not add custom fields to Workspace).
It would also be a nice compromise to give Business and below the option to map custom fields when deleting them (essentially only merging two at a time, with no additional or comprehensive options), if at least so nothing is lost when people try to clean up (as most do at some point during the setup/adoption process). Since mapping is already an option with tasks and statuses when moving/deleting things, it's understandable to be confused when the same option doesn't exist for Custom Fields.

Unfortunately, ClickUp has made this feature available only to Business Plus and above. Very disappointing.

Well, if this is only for Enterprise subscription, then it is also quite useless for many.

Caroline Ginty: 💥💥 was trying to do this a couple days ago and forgot it hadn't been rolled out yet 😅

Caroline Ginty: this is great news. There is one issue I've encountered when merging. I thought merging meant that if I had data in one field that is not in the other, I can choose to not add it OR to add it. There is no option to add it. Is this by design?
Caroline Ginty
Belle Niba: Are you looking specifically at a dropdown or label Custom Field, and are looking for the option to transfer an option from the field being merged into the target field? If so, you can create a new option in the target field (the field you are merging into), which will have no data, and then map the data you are looking to add into that new option in the target field. Hope this helps!

Caroline Ginty: you understand it correctly. This however is very inconvenient because it requires me to know that there may be a mismatch. A merge should be able MERGE both fields data. For me to do what you suggest, I first go to merge the fields, then I realize I have some data in one that the other doesn't have. Then I exit and go to edit one field with blank options (I have to check to make sure I have enough) then go back ... it just is so unproductive. A better flow will be that on the merge screen, I can add the new option fields and map to them.

HIii! I don't know how I'm able to have multiple Custom Fields with the same name... it's causing lots of duplications and broken automations.
Please merge these!

Merging same-name custom fields is very needed. It is a main blocker for our team being able to clean up our working space. We want to move lists out of folders where the grouping is no longer helpful, but the threat of duplicated same-name custom fields is stopping us.

this feature would save me so much time, and align the use of fields much better. A better recognition of the fields so duplicates do not emerge at all would even be better

This feature would be very useful within my team

This is a vital feature for me. I use google sheets to collect updated information from (both existing and new/ potential) customers, then I import those responses to ClickUp. After processing the responses I would like to merge them to the original task/ customer entry in order to for example
- updated phone, address and email
- but also their interest in certain products (which may change over time).
Having a feature that ensures merging updates to the most recent value, would be very, very helpful feature.
