Ability to insert new tasks between other tasks in the list
Chris Wale
I like to sort the tasks in a list manually.
I'd like to have the ability to insert new tasks between other tasks in the list. This will save me from having to drag a task into the position after adding it, which is a bit of a hassle.
@ClickUp developers: Have a look at the screen shot mock up below. One way that this could be integrated into the lists is to have it as an option included in the right click menu of a task. Similar to how Google Sheets does it with "Add 1 above"
I've also included a mock up of what this could look like when adding the task in the middle of a list

Our team would like this feature as well. Having newly added tasks/subtasks appear at the bottom of the list is causing a lot of headaches, because then we have to drag & drop into the proper order.
Not only is that a tedious process, but we have issues with the drag and drop not keeping the current hierarchy -- we'll try to move Task B above Task A, and the system thinks we want Task B to be a subtask of Task A. If we try to move our cursor to the left a bit so it targets the appropriate hierarchy, our left navigation gets in the way and thinks we're trying to drop a task into another list. #facepalm It's driving some of us a bit crazy.
We've found that drag & drop reordering is a little less sensitive in the Gantt view, but our preferred view is List view and ideally we could do drag & drops there without totally blowing up our project structure.

This need is so basic!!
As I am documenting a work breakdown, inserting tasks / subtasks is extremely common, and having to add at the bottom and then drag up, or add a subtask and out-dent it is tedious!
Either add "insert task above" in the context menu of a task, or have a second + button appear when hovering over a task, and then label the two buttons +T and +S instead of just +

Adding an additional comment to hopefully progress the development of this feature request. The ability to select an existing location between existing tasks or sub tasks and add/insert new row above/below and ideally ability to add/insert a certain number of new rows as well, e.g "insert 6 new rows above"

Waleed Elaghil coming from Asana this is very counter intuitive. In asana you click any task (you enter the edit mode of the title) and click enter to make a new one. Not possible for Clickup because you open the task always.
It would be great if between the tasks you could show the small '+' icon on hover or indeed a rightclick 'add task below'. The same goes for subtasks, they are difficult to add from a list view, the plus is hidden behind the subtask icon, and that takes some getting used to I guess :)

Hey Ruud! Thank you for the feedback. I can relate to your pain-point. I'll definitely surface this to the team!

I need this too

I agree. ClickUp is all about creating tasks. We need the ability to add/insert tasks in between tasks in the list

Very good idea!

This would save a lot of time when adding new tasks. I don't enjoy dragging tasks into position, if I could do it in one step it would be much easier!
