Currently, the ability to filter on custom status names like "In Progress" or "Complete" is not available in the filter menu for the main search/workspace level searches.

My team, especially clickup admins, would find it very valuable to have more granular filter abilities in the global search/workspace level searches. This is especially handy when we need to clean up or bulk-edit tasks for performing changes to status names, moving lots of tasks between statuses, etc.
