2 way sync for Google Calendar
building now
Yahu
Hi There! I see all the tasks that I have planned for my day on the top of my calendar on the section "All day" and that is great! however, there are several things that would be great to fix and improve, see my notes below:
- when I mark tasks done, the tasks showing in my calendar don't go away. they stay there. if it is a 2 way sync, when I mark something done or moved to another day etc, It should reflect in my calendar, right?
- Any meetings I add under google calendar or that my team adds, they don't over to the calendar in click up. and even when I adjust the time of a task to be done specifically, like it is not updated in the CU Calendar...
am I missing something maybe? let me know. thank you!

Hi folks - Ricardo here, I own calendar at Clickup. How's your day going today? 🦄☀️
I wanted to provide you with an update on this.
As Ivan mentioned, we've been working hard to move the Google Calendar integration to a new platform as well as AppCenter as both are pre-requisites to improving the way tasks sync to Google Calendar.
🎉 Good news - we've now completed this work.
It's been a mountain(!) of work, but we trust this puts us in the best possible place to get this feature right for you.
I know there's been lots of hurdles in this specific part of the software, and I'm keen to make this right for you. Me & the team are going to put real work in, but also want to set your expectations getting this to work 100% of the times won't happen overnight.
Features like this have lots of little nuances, so even though I can tell you that we sync millions of tasks successfully every day, that means nothing if (for you) it's not working. It sucks, I hear you. We'll make it right. 🫡

Hey Tomi Murovec — you shouldn't need to leave ClickUp to check Google Calendar anymore. Your events now show up natively.
Ricardo Clerigo
Hey Vladislav Grabovoy — you can now see your GCal events in ClickUp. No more creating events manually.

Bugs I have:
- If I change the date of a synced CU item, the date of the Gcal item does not change.
- If I change the name of a synced CU item, the name in Gcal does not change.
- I get 3 - 7 copies of every synced CU item.
- If I delete a Gcal item in CU Planner, it comes back after a few minutes.

Guy Mannerings Yes, the duplication of items is a pretty big issue for us too. That and not being able to change the name of calendar events - for instance, being able to remove the text showing where the event is located in clickup
Guy Mannerings
Jordan Scali Yes, I would like to be able to change that breadcrumb, too, as it's too long and makes the calendar hard to read/messy. Even just toggle on/off would work, if we can't customise it. Ricardo Clerigo

Tasks without a specific time are marked as all-day events in Google Calendar, which subsequently show me as busy for the entire day, so no one is able to book with me (calendly, hubspot calendar, even the native "suggested times" feature built into google calendar). This alone makes the integration entirely useless. Ricardo Clerigo are you able to tell us what you're working on next for calendar fixes?
Andy Hoyland
Ashlyn Same here. Came here to say this. At the moment having to use a second calendar for ClickUp integration

How can it be that this issue is still not fixed after 7 years???
This is a basic feature in every other project management system. I'm really considering leaving ClickUp for other apps.
I don't see any reason why I should renew my subscription.

This feature is absolutely essential.
A true two-way sync between ClickUp and Google Calendar is critical for daily productivity. Today, many users rely on Google Calendar as their primary source of truth for scheduling, while ClickUp is used for task execution. Without bidirectional sync, this workflow breaks and creates duplicated work and missed commitments.
Tasks created in ClickUp should reliably appear in Google Calendar (and stay in sync), just as calendar events already appear in ClickUp. This is not a “nice to have” feature — it’s fundamental for professionals and teams who depend on accurate time and task management.
Please prioritize this. It would significantly improve trust in the integration and overall user experience.
Ricardo Clerigo
Hey Cleber — GCal events now show in ClickUp. That single source of truth for scheduling you described should be possible now.

I use ClickUp together with Google Calendar to plan my work using time blocking.
My workflow is:
See all Google Calendar events
Find empty time blocks
Schedule ClickUp tasks into those free blocks
Currently, this workflow is broken.
Current Situation
Planner view
✅ Can edit Google Calendar events
❌ Does NOT show future recurring tasks
Calendar view
✅ Shows future recurring tasks
❌ Cannot edit Google Calendar events
Recurring tasks are essential for planning (weekly, monthly, repetitive work).
If they are not visible in Planner, real planning is impossible.
Requested Features
Show future recurring tasks in Planner view
This is fundamental to allow real time-blocking and long-term planning.
Complete true two-way sync with Google Calendar
Two-way sync has been marked as “under construction” since 2019.
Changes made in ClickUp or Google Calendar should update both sides correctly.
Why This Matters
Without recurring tasks in Planner and a reliable two-way sync, ClickUp cannot be used as a true scheduling and planning tool.
Summary
Planner + recurring tasks + real two-way sync
= a complete and powerful planning experience.
Ricardo Clerigo
Hey Alejandro — you can now see all your GCal events in ClickUp and find those empty time blocks to schedule tasks into. Your workflow should work end-to-end now.

Meetings others add me to dont show up on the calendar, I cant see any meetings people have added me to unless i expressly click the copy to my calendar button -_-
Ricardo Clerigo
That sounds like a bug. Can you report it and someone in our TS team will help.
Ricardo Clerigo
Hey Andrew — meetings others add you to should now appear in your ClickUp Calendar view. No more missing invites.
Fabian Schmittlutz
Why is this still not fixed? Neither deleting nor completing the task removes it from my google calendar. Everything else works (Editing the time etc.). But this way, my calendar would be FILLED with tasks that are already done and creates more issues then help? Ricardo Clerigo
Justin Davis
This sync creates more work, not less. It doesn't seem to do anything reliably. Date changes don't reliably sync, and the target Google Calendar is left polluted with irrelevant events that you have to manually delete. Please let us know when this feature is out of beta (or alpha??) and ready for prime time. Thanks!
