Different push notification sounds for Chat VS task & inbox

We really want to differentiate the sounds of a task and chat since our "tasks" sound is related negative since it's reminders for dues or that something needs to be fixed. We need this before we change over to chat so the notifications for chat is something that's new, positive and does not physiologically makes them stressed. And also makes them understand what is a message and what is a task.

I totally agree, it's essential that a chat module differentiates itself in terms of its alerts and notifications. They create a CHAT with new features, but they forget the basics of what a chat should have... My team and I want to migrate to the ClickUp chat to keep everything on the same platform, but no one will do it if the basic functions of a chat are not covered

We're missing the possibility to set a different notification sound for chat messages.
It's really annoying, that i hear the sound that means there's a new task or an update, but there's just a chat message

If i jump into Slack that is just a chat app I see 17+ categories. In clickup only 1.
To name just a few options that could be enabled or disabled, or just allow different custom tones etc....SyncUp Call, Chat Message, Thread Reply, DM Message, Activity Post, Mention, Assigned Comment...ie when on road I don't need or want every message on every task or channel i am in, but DMs, replies to thread, mentions and assigned comments are critical comms that someone needs me to respond to something.

The speed to reply between chat and task is often differ. While chat need to be replied fast, task can wait for longer time. Can you create like different notification so we know if this need to be urgent or not

Brendan W YESSSSS. Can't wait. I would say one sound for chat notifications, a basic sound for all other notifications.
Also, I know I (and I think others) have made a UI suggestion to have floating chat conversations similar to Messenger. Is that being considered as well? For me, the visual is actually more important than the audio because my meetings schedule makes it unlikely that I will hear a notification when it comes in.

Maybe you could have a section where you can select a specific Sound to be used in different areas, like Important notifications, Urgent notifications, Chat messages, Group messages, Assigned comments... and so on
I dont know if this might be out of the scope but I think that would be the best way so anybody can customize it

Carolyn McKinney Thank you for the feedback! There is a separate feature request that you can upvote for "standalone Chat app" or "pop up Chat windows" which sounds like what you're asking for!

Brendan W Really glad to hear some form of alert sound differentiation is being built now, but the ability to select custom sounds (even if for now it was just the defaults
plus an upload option
for user-provided audio) is really key for some of us—especially those migrating from Slack. Alerts coming from CU tasks + CU chat are by far the most frequent sounds many of us hear throughout the day. It becomes pretty grating when it's not a sound you particularly enjoy or one that manages to grab your attention amongst all the mental noise.
Could we please get an upload option as a stopgap between a few forced defaults and a sizeable native library?

Brendan W The chat sound or the alert for when they write to you, has the power to stand out above all the others. The chat (separately) must have a higher alert method, so the sound must be different and configurable to the way you want the alert theme (sound plus visualization if possible), otherwise you can type PopUp that stands out in some way
