Task Descriptions and Docs are HORRIFIC to use on mobile (Android).
Sorry to be blunt, but this has been a problem for years now, and it gives me dread every time I have to open ClickUp on mobile. You know I am a big ClickUp fan, but this has been a big problem for a while.
- Loading either in to edit mode takes AGES. Even if you only have 1 line of text. I can see on my Android toolbar that it is downloading a huge amount of data just to open the editor. I can be on WiFi, I can be in a full-service 5G area... it doesn't matter. It takes an age. This is, BY FAR, the biggest problem.
- The non-editing preview version (so the Task View version of Task Description where you have NOT clicked in to edit) shows images in completely the wrong place. On Desktop, I could have a paragraph of text, then an image, then a paragraph of text, then an image, then a paragraph of text, then an image, etc, but on mobile, it will put those three images together, not in the right place after their text. Why??!?!?! This means I have to open every Task Description in to edit mode to see it properly, in order. Which means waiting ages again.
- The preview version also crops images. Why?!?! This means I have to open every single Task Description to see the full image. I also have to remember to do that. It makes it look like there is no more to the image, when, in fact, there is. So you are getting incorrect information, and have to remember to actually open every Task Description in to edit mode (so you have to wait for it to load for ages) to see it properly.
- You can click the image, and it makes an animation like it will open in a preview, but it doesn't. So I still have to open the Task Description in edit mode to see it.
- Good luck opening with not great signal.
- Edits you make don't show in the preview version after you make them, unless you re-open the edit version and close it again.
- Pasting in to tables gives problems. It can break the table apart.
- Task Descriptions get cut off on the bottom so you can't see the last couple of lines of text. You have to add some carriage returns to see them.

- Sometimes editing just stops working. You have to close out of the app completely and re-open it (Android).
- Sometimes the keyboard doesn't open or just disappears on you. You have to close out of the app completely and re-open it (Android).
- You can think you are editing something and it is saving okay, only to come back to the same item later and it not have saved anything and it reverts. Probably a signal issue or related to 9 or 10 above, but it should work OFFLINE first, then be syncing changes. It should not be reliant on signal to work.
- As the last sentence above, it should work OFFLINE first, then be syncing changes. It should not be reliant on signal to work.

November 2025 update
Thank you all for your feedback to improve Docs and more on mobile.
We have some updates going out soon.
- New typography that looks better and makes content easier to read on all devices.
- New font implementation that will help make docs look similar on all devices, and less jarring if you are going from a Mac to an Android phone, for example.
- New Edit button design and mechanics that make it easier to act when you enter a doc.
- Improvements to speed and monitoring so we can fix issues when Docs are loading slow for you.
Stay tuned for more updates and keep the feedback coming!

Joey will we get rich format text custom fields? I enter quite a bit of text in the custom fields and would appreciate being able to access bullet and numbering and such.

Will there be an Undo Button built in?

There is nothing else more important than bringing docs up to parity with the desktop app

I understand that critical issues are going to take precedent, but the mobile app for docs is effing unusable on mobile. It's clunky, dysfunctional, can't even create new nested documents, it's beyond a joke guys. There has been a lot of great work to improve the overall system, so I'm bearing with you on this but my patience is coming to an end.
Not one single feature request that I can see here is even remotely as important as getting the existing main feature set up to par. That's not just because it's the one I posted, but because it's the truth.

Here are some docs features that would be especially useful for our workspace:
-subscript/superscript functions
-footnotes
-granular permissions controls for who can access and edit docs
-ability to grant access to a doc while keeping doc history and comments from being visible to all viewers
-prohibit view-only users from duplicating docs (we use Docs for reference docs and SOP materials within our workspace, and we would like to make these accessible for viewing but not editing/duplicating/deleting)

I would like to be able to add/remove various widgets in the Doc view based on my needs/wants. Example: I don't have or use Wiki's. I would like to NOT see a Wiki widget in my view.

are we aslo getting rid of custom formatting and embracing Markdown, so we don't have to use slash commands to copy paste markdown-formatted content?
Joey
Back with another fun update for comments and chats on mobile. Go update your app, tell your friends, and write some fun comments and chats! ✏️ 👨🎨
- New Slash Command menu with access to writing Headings, Banners, Code blocks, checklists and more! Many of these have never been available in mobile comments before!
- Quick access to indenting, and inline formatting options (bold, italic, font color, hyperlinking, inline code)
- Improved reliability and speed while writing and sending complex comments
- Increased support for editing complex comments on the go
- Improved photo and video formatting inside of comment drafts
Still in the works:
- Undo, redo
- Spellcheck
- Improved draft management
- Pasting improvements, such as being able to paste an image into the editor
- Bringing this editor to Docs (almost done!!)
- Some quality of life improvements with Code blocks, numbered lists, etc to make it even easier to use
- Support to drag down the editor to close it (you can swipe down from above it to close, but we want to make this easier)

Joey Editing docs on Notion mobile app is super simple and smooth. It should feel the same way on clickup mobile. Then we can fully transition.
Right now it often takes too long too load and you first need to click on edit. Feels slow.
Also having shortcuts to docs on iPhone so you can quickly brain dump thoughts into clickup docs and then later have someone create tasks from there.
That's be perfect

I completely agree with this! Notion mobile app is so much easier to use on my phone and iPad than the ClickUp one related to docs.
It's extra steps to have to click edit in order to work in your doc. It would be nice to get to your doc and start adding/editing to your doc. Another feature that is nice on the Notion app compared to ClickUp docs in the app is that when you use columns the Notion app has a much better interface and view when seeing them on the app. They have them drop down under each other versus scrunching them into the tiny width of your phone. It would also be so helpful to have toggle headings and sync text.
